I think people undersell the difference on defense when comparing Murray and Mitchell to Sexton. Its not just that they play good defense and he doesnt, its that he plays bad, very bad defense. It is a very big difference

This is the Collin Sexton thread so there's obviously going to be Collin fans in here. I don't see a problem with it but some posters come in here and get their knickers in a knot. If you look purely at scoring stats he does compare favorably with alot of the best young scorers. There are issues that Sexton definitely needs to work on but I do think he would look better in a more structured environment playing alongside a better fitting roster.
If you don't like his game there's no reason to come in here angry and belittle fans that do enjoy rooting for Collin. I think some fans are beginning to think if they come in and post anything positive about Sexton there will be a small, angry mob that will get the last word on the subject.

People are really underestimating just how bad Sexton's defense is. He is just lost out there like completely confused on what to do, doesn't fight over screens, blantently misses rotations, and is almost always late on close outs resulting in the Cavs just getting KILLED by 3's. He really hasn't improved defensively in 3 years, it's kinda sad.

You are right that must be it he is confused smh, and by being right you also crucify Garland in that vein as you will likely claim he is not confused but is equally as terrible because he is in fact just as bad of a defender.
I am not sure what will happen with the current line ups ,but I would not trust either of them in a playoff setting. they will just get owned like Jrue owned Trae

Trae Young had 48, 11 and 7 in game 1 and 35 in game 3 before he slipped on the officials foot.

He's not as good as Mitchell though. That's the issue. The team will likely trade him for a shit package because they don't want to max him then Collin will end up on a deal with 16 to 18 Million per year on another team because if he eventually hits FA that's what his market will likely be. He's a scorer with no defense. No one will max him but he's worth more then the 13 Million Per Utah just paid Clarkson.
Just out of curiosity what is Kyrie Irving's defense like at 22 or what is James Hardens? What is Darius Garlands?
How about what the hell difference does it make if he defends when no other elite offensive players do either at the same age anyway. He could very well defend at a higher level in years to come same as some of these guys have as they got older.
As far as being as good as Mitchell, he actually has nothing close to the type of support DM has had since day one. That has to have made a difference in the freedom he has with plenty of threats to score surrounding him.

Yeah he is great when he is healthy but I am sure Jrue had nothing to do with him pretending to get hurt which is also a nice fun theory I see circling around in ATL lol. BTW that was the game they intentionally tried to force Trae to beat them by himself not guarding him much at all. He beat them so that ended and he never had another game even close to it in the series. Thanks to Holiday.
I see a little pass first guard who has reached the pinnacle of his career already, and is soon to be in trouble when the officials stop giving him all the shot fouls he is used to getting that are bogus. But at least he is not afraid to shoot it.

Donovan Mitchell led the ACC in steals and was first team all defense before ever stepping foot in the NBA

If you really think that Sexton is on par with Donovan Mitchell you should be punched in the balls repeatedly until you realize the error of your ways.

lol I didnt say he was as good as DM. I said DM has had a much better supporting cast his entire career thus far. That is written in stone facts. Those facts while your punching your own nuts should make you realize DM on the Cavs could be Sexton 2.0 and the same goes if Sexton was in Utah the past 3 seasons.
We will never know if Sexton stays a Cav what he could do on a real NBA roster but Sexton is clearly more dedicated to improving his game instead of pouting and complaining like DM and his supporters are so maybe he can shut you up
