I’m genuinely curious how us just having had Jordan Clarkson in our organization, a fellow Klutch client, and similar playing profile, is informing our actions with Colin.

Clarkson did sign a $13M year deal in UT in 2020;

I also don’t think Koby and that front office forget that Clarkson on an expiring deal netted us nothing but another expiring and 2 2nd round picks.

While many will say Sexton is better, and I tend to agree, you also have to acknowledge Sextons usage has been very favorable due to our previously awful roster. He now comes back as what, our 3-6th option? When in 2020 he was our #1? Would he really do more than Jordan Clarkson would in a more limited role?

If we had Clarkson instead of Sexton last season, do we really win many more games?

And now that Clarkson may be moving out of UT, you can also gauge the value of a similar player at that same salary range, in current time. If Clarkson at $13.5m is now worth a lottery protected first from contenders and expiring $, is Collin worth that at $20m? Are we better off keeping the salary flexibility?

Pretty fascinating game of chicken going on here; Sexton would be crazy to bet on himself again after seeing how quickly the market disappears on similar sized players; Cavs can’t afford to lose the asset for nothing; we want to avoid the tax this year, while also keeping flexibility for a free agent next year (that could make Collin even more redundant); Collin has great scoring stats and efficiency, while also having awful advanced metrics…just so much going on here.

Koby may not be a star, but we should be thankful we don’t have a front office full of dipshits that just splash money recklessly (like the Hornets and Wizards for example); this situation seems like it is being handled quite well by the Cavs, and hard to blame Klutch/Collin for handling as they are too…

i agree with the argument that ppg are misleading when playing for a bad team....

i disagree with the argument that efficiency metrics are misleading on a bad team...you can make an argument that shooting will actually improve when surrounded by better players

colins 37.5 percent from three on four attempts a game over 125 gmaes.....starter minutes....huge value for a team that was one of the league leaders in least amount of shots taken last year...the cavs need efficient points

i think most agree that sexton will be coming off the bench in a 6th man capacity....i also think most will agree that collin is absolutely fukn salivating while looking at matchups agasint bench players at the 1 and 2 whereas before he was accomstomed to matchups against starters.

I just won Collin Sexton Thread bingo, not going to tell you which post it was on, just gonna hand in my card to the admin, get my cash, buy 3 more cards and fill this Styrofoam cup back up with hot Maxwell House.

The second Sexton takes the QO, he becomes a major distraction for this team.

Everyone will know the story, everyone will know what he's aiming at. And he's not gonna get that $100 million deal averaging 11 points and 4 assists per game off the bench. That's just an impossibility.

He just doesn't fit this team. Square peg, round hole.

Lovely 12 minute video, when does the 50 hour edition featuring all the times Sexton pounds the ball for 20 seconds, makes dumb drives against 3 defenders and constantly gets lost on defense? Or the highlights of him standing 5-6 feet away from the 3point line just waiting for the ball?

If not for the ongoing Deshaun saga, this topic would easily be the most exhausting in the Cleveland sports world. Luckily for Cleveland fans, we get to endure both all summer long, and for God only knows how much longer. Classic.

How about this. Until Collin signs, the Cavs can sign me to play guard. Im 5'10 and once hit 3 3s in a row. I can also jump over a shoebox with a running start

Sexton and more to the point Klutch would have to be an idiot to take the QO. I'm assuming that's not going to happen.
