I don’t think I’d quite call it an excellent season. And that is only because of how it ended. Mahomes is 24 and that may have been our best shot to go to an AFC championship. Mahomes, Lamar, Allen, Burrow, Watson, Lawrence...the AFC is stacked. Now, the Browns also have a good team but who knows what happens?

They had their chance. Stefanski is a good coach but he had two huge brain farts with the challenge and the punt. He cost us the game. He had to live with that punt forever. You just don’t give the team the ball back in that situation. Period.

I won’t even get into the Chad Henne run. How do you let that happen? Ugh.
I don’t get the hate for the punt. They had what 5 minutes left and were on our 40? Something like that. You give the ball back to chad henne. That’s on the defense. Any competent defense should be able to stop them. You can’t turn the ball over on downs in our own territory. It’s not like we had 1 yard to go.

Because we only had one time out left. And in that situation you don’t know if you are getting the ball back. We didn’t.

It’s just a bitterly disappointing end to an otherwise great season.

I think the conversation is different when you're punting to Chad Henne than when you're punting to Patrick Mahomes.

True. There were just so many things that went wrong for the Browns. Oh well. Probably lose by 14 points or more if Mahomes plays anyways.

I'm not going to clog up another thread after ranting about this extensively yesterday, but I just don't think the conversation is different given how bad the Browns defense was yesterday/has been all season and leave it at that.

The Chiefs only needed 20 yards to ice the game. Henne came in and converted two first downs on his first possession. He converted two first downs on his second possession. And, unfortunately, he converted two first downs on his third and final possession.

The surprising thing about the game was how well the Chiefs played against our O Line. I know we lost Wills but our guards had their hands full.

Rather than denigrate our coach and players because we didn't win I'll give full credit to the Chiefs who responded like champions to losing Mahomes.

Also note that Reid was criticized for years in Philly because he couldn't win the big one. He's the only guy to have three conf championships games at home in a row and he's done it in both conferences, yet only has one ring. It's always easy to trash a coach when a team loses.

Watching Baker grow as a QB this season was awesome too. His command of the offense grew grew, and his confidence and decisiveness so clearly grew along with it. Really excited to see what a full season with that level of command looks like.

He married his 2018 accuracy with his 2020 maturity. 2019 Baker dissipated after that first Pittsburgh game.

You're spinning your wheels even engaging with that troll.

I'm not trolling dude. It was a very good season. I think making the AFC Championship would have been an excellent season. I guarantee you the players in the Browns locker room are disappointed as well. Do you think the Patriots dynasty was happy losing in the divisional round? Good season. Not excellent.

If the Patriots are the standard other franchises are held to, the other 31 teams in the league would be considered failures.

Our bottom 10 defense is what rightly stopped people from thinking we were Super Bowl contenders. It would have taken some really fluky stuff to do it.

But you have to start from somewhere, and this season was better than the last 15 seasons combined.

GTFOH with the Patriots comparison. We just made the playoffs for the first time in 18 fucking years and knocked off our arch rivals in the process. I am disappointed right now because we had a chance to win yesterday. I am not disappointed in our entire season's body of work.

Dude....fuck off.

Mr. Orange been trolling the entire board since forever and only now people are starting to realize how obnoxious he is. The Cavs board. The politics board.

He's a troll.

EDIT: For reference go back to when LeBron was leaving again and he just made post after post after post about how the Cavs would probably never win anything else ever again. This is his schtick.
