So, will it take a week or so before California determines the worthwhileness of the state-wide lockdown? Like, we need honest answers about that.

Just seemed like we walked towards this really slow and didn’t run at it at all. Feels like we just let a stove top catch fire and just stood there and stared at it.

Except the stovetop was China and Italy.

maryland numbers just went from 107 yesterday to 149 today.

salons (nail and hair), piercing shops, etc have been shut down. Also only passengers and people that work at the airport are allowed at airports. No more family pick ups and drop offs.

I would say in the next 2 days we will know how many states are going to follow california

Well I took the advice and left work today. Pending doctor validation, anyways. He needs to fill out the paperwork but I don’t think that’ll be an issue.

Had this weird feeling though almost like I regretted it. Being under quarantine man, gonna make me go stir crazy. Anyone have some ideas or tips? Plenty of video games to play and shows to watch and shit but I almost feel like this could be challenging on a mental level in other ways than just boredom. feeling unproductive and shit. I am in a masters program online so I guess I still have that to keep me working on something.

Tax day pushed back to July 15th now. Getting more and more terrified if we are ever going to see a return to some form of normalcy.

I went from a -4 to a 6/10. Increasingly worried.

Also, I feel like I’m internally going batshit insane. Living temporarily with my fiancé family while our house is built; 5 adults, 2 kids under 10.

Having a dog helps. Very glad I went out on a limb and adopted a puppy two months ago.

I went from teaching 100+ kids each day, coaching 20+ after school to just me and my dog for the last six days. It's been wild.

Honestly man. My suggestion is to learn a new hobby. Finding something to occupy your time and your hands will make you feel more productive.

If you own a home, its a great time to work indoors or outdoors.

Reading or online training for your job so you can be extra productive when you return to work.

Paint your table with rubber cement, sniff it for a minute, then roll into a rubber ball.

Get in shape. Home gym, burpees, yoga, meditation. If you're already in shape, flex in front of mirror and kiss biceps.

Coloring book or color by numbers. I'm not kidding. Try it.

Learn a language.

Learn to play an instrument. After 8 weeks with a digital piano, you could probably release a top 20 Billboard album, or at least a single.

Build a fort, a shed, a deck.

Read Harry Potter.

Do you have more rubber cement?

Build a kick-ass dominoes creation or a miniature golf course in your home.

Make videos of all of the above and post them here.

Do some home workouts and yoga. I’ve been looking into a home gym for a while. Might be crazy enough to do it during this. Though, I’m still working since I’m in the utility business.

If the weather permits, get outside and go for a walk every day.

Seriously. It’s done wonders for me. Every day, my wife (who is working from home) and I take the dog for a walk during her lunch break. It’s helped us establish some kind of a routine and is one of the (decreasing amount of) few things we actually have control over.

Video games are great. I’ve been working on platinuming Bloodborne and I finally have the opportunity to work through the rest of my backlog. But, don’t underestimate the power of going outside and getting some fresh air. It will do a lot of good for your mental health.

Nah, normalcy will return. Just have to put up with some pains in our ass until we get there.

Humanity has recovered from far more lethal and virulent diseases than this thing. Leaving out the Black Death and other super plagues, the Spanish flu of 1918-19 killed about 0.6% of the U.S. population, and it was followed by the Roaring Twenties. Normalcy returned.

With the coronavirus, in addition to progress on masks, tests, medicines, and potentially a vaccine, there's also increasing evidence that this thing does not like heat and humidity. All of that points to things moving closer to normal by June/July.

It sucks...but it will pass.

Tip, just gotta say, i like where your heads been at throughout this nonsense. It's refreshing to hear at least glimmers of hope with all the doom and gloom these days . . .

I second this. Thanks Q.
