Interesting graph, I think the death rate favors about a 12 day cycle from reported illness to conclusion good our bad.

Japan's reported infection rate is growing fastest outside of China at 20%, but they are also most likely to accurately report such things. Cambodia and Thailand, phillipines are not likely to report. Phillipines for example has one confirmed death but no source infection.

Also I read an interview with a Harvard disease expert, who indicated that although the quarantines would slow the disease, the probability is that the infection will go global, including the US. Other items in the interview, there is no vaccine, and there may not be one. Also that protection against re-infection for corona viruses is temporary (circa 2 years). Flu for example is 6 years.

I’m fine everybody. I’m on day 10 of self quarantine. I didn’t go to Wuhan, but I was in China for most of January and got back on the 31st.

Yeah, whatever you freaking bot! Let us mourn our dearly departed comrade in peace, you heartless machine!

Its merely a flesh wound.

Interesting note. My wife teaches English online to kids in China. She just finished a class and as it was ending, she asked the child what was that loud repetitive message she kept hearing in the background. Apparently, the kid lives In a area that’s on quarantine and he isn’t allowed to leave the house.
He has another class in a few days and she said she hoped to see him...crazy stuff over there still.

From what I heard from my friend in Chengdu, which isn't even a hot zone for the virus, they are putting people on quarantine. He told me 3 days ago there are 124 confirm cases in Chengdu. They have put his district on the cards for entry and exit. Each household can only have one person for the card to go get supplies, everyone else has to stay in their homes. He said there weren't limits to how many times a day they can go out on that card right now but families had to pick one person to get the card and their name is connected to it.

That’s insane.

Yea, he also said yesterday that his went into work to go get some things and he had to get a stamped letter to show his community manager where he was.

I read a New York times article a couple days with some first account reports from Wuhan. What seems like the problem is their whole medical system is overwhelmed at this point. People that are real sick are having to wait in long lines and are getting turned away because they don't have beds. Some have to go at midnight just to get checked out and be given medication.

My guess is they are quarantining in other cities because they are already stretched too thin with just Wuhan if another city gets to that level, they won't know what to do.

vipkid? My fiance does that lol.

I updated the table in the first post so it's current through Feb 15th.

The CDC is now telling the public that it's not a matter of if, but when, the coronavirus outbreak happens here in the U.S.

2,700 dead and 80,000 infected worldwide.

I've gotta catch a plane to Cleveland tomorrow and the thought of going through a busy airport and sitting in close proximity of others on a plane is sounding less appealing than it already is.

The experts seem pretty grim.
