PS-As you can see, I or someone alse gives the punch, and then the others come in and drop their 2 cents and allow the thread to evolve.

Can you please give some explaination as to why it is good?

You know. It will help get this topic on fire.

I think I speak for everyone here when I ask you to explain what you are trying to get at. Asking something like are corps good or bad for America can be summed up in a one word answer. If you were to ask something about big box stores coming into small towns OR businesses with monopolies on a type of product discussion would be generated but seeing as how I and from the looks of it nobody else understands what you are trying to say I don't think this topic is going to be "on fire".

Dingo pretty much said what I was thinking...

You posed a question, Fun-Run, but you never implied what you were getting at ? As Dingo said, Monopolies, work force expansions, revenue progressions, advatages or disadvantages for a paticular city.

You should have given a hypothetical scenario and then asked. Everyone in my town (Madison) was angry about the Walmart they just put up. 2nd biggest Walmart in Ohio, all the entreprenuers at retail places banded together to hold rallies and everything. IT was funny they didn't rally until after it was built. Like they would build the 2nd biggest Walmart in Ohio and due to the publics LATE reaction just pack it up.

I am for small businesses to a point. I like them because I beleive they are good for the community. As a consumer I like big places like Walmart. You can't find the variety and types of products they sell. Computers, Big Screens, all sorts of things you can't get at Dollar General the corner store and even the K-Mart we have.

Ok, let me try to clear things up and make everyone happy.

People say that corporations are bad. They believe that corporations are what is wrong with this country. I somewhat disagree. I believe that it was corporations and their thirst for power and money that drove this country to be the super power of the world. It is corporations that truly run this great country. Without corporations, we would not be where we are today. Although corporations have their cons, the pros are far greater. Surely I am not saying that all corporations are good, but the majorities make our lives easier. But they are also gaining something in the process also. Is there such thing as a “Good” or “Bad” corporation? No there is not because every corporation runs of the same fundamentals, to maximize profits at the expense of others.

Well, I agree and I don't really need to add more due to your excellent post on this subject you brought up... That might have been your best post to date.

It depends on the corporation. If it's one that only cares about making money at any cost, then i dont like it. Like the ones that go out of country and exploit the people for cheap labor. Or ones that make cheap products that can fail on you just to make more of a profit. If it's all about money money money and you dont care about the people who work for you or sell to i have a problem with that. Sadly many corporations are like this.
