Not sure I agree with this, but basically the Penn Supreme Court said the new prosecutor had live by the old prosecutor's promise to not charge Cosby, thus they overturned his conviction.

honestly sounds like a pretty open and shut case. Prosecutor promised not to charge Cosby to get more information from him. Cosby admitted to crimes during this process. New prosecutor came in, decided not to uphold that agreement and charge Cosby based on the information he provided.

that sort of thing doesnt fly in the courts. You cant promise immunity, then take back that promise.

I dont disagree, just sucks as obviously Cosby is guilty.

But he will be a prisoner in his own home and lost all credibility much like OJ.

"During the criminal case, Cosby’s lawyers argued that Castor had secretly promised the actor immunity in 2005. A judge dismissed that argument. Cosby was convicted on three felony counts and sentenced in 2018 to three to 10 years in prison. Constand and Castor confidentially settled the defamation claim in 2019."

What does secretly promised immunity mean? Was there a signed agreement?

Sounds like the Epstein case all over again where immunity was given for no good reason.

Castor of course represented Trump in impeachment. He was a prosecutor who declined to charge Cosby initially. When his term was up, he helped defend people who were accused of rape and sexual harassment. An anti metoo activist.

Seems like he is fighting the same battles on both sides.

Legally, the new prosecutor screwed up by using Cosby protected testimony. He needed to build a chain of evidence without using said testmony..

The ruling in this case, in my view makes it more likely epstein would have gotten out as well..Will be interesting to see if it impacts ghilsane..
