Crater to commit to OSU

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
im sure style will be pissed but im just answering a question

well we lose a few seniors but from what I hear Alan Branch is taking a look at the NFL as is Jake Long....losing those 2 would hurt badly but I am more confident that they wil stay after what happened against the buckeyes.....so hopefully they stay and I think they will

Mike Hart is actualy looking at the NFL...he will never make it in the NFL but what little stock he has is about as high as it ever wil be....I mena he is 5'9 and runs a 4.6 40....not something NFL scouts drool over but he has alot of production....hopefully he realizes College is as good as it gets for him and he comes back

other than that the key seniors leaving are LaMarr Woodley David Harris Leon Hall Steve Breaston Reuben Riley Willis Barringer

UM should be top 2 or 3 preseason next year with a lot of people coming back next year and with all of our tough games at home

recently I heard that OSU might lose on top of Troy, Ted Ginn, Gonzo, Pittman
not sure if thats true or not but it has been somethign that I have heard

George, you're allowed to respond to people. It's only annoying when you initiate UM talks in the middle of an OSU only thread, and it then turns into an OSU - UM pissing contest. These are normally not entirely your fault, as it takes two for it to escalate to that, but I usually single you out since you start it by going off topic.

Anyway, I hear Ginn is gone, and why not? He's a top 20 pick right now, maybe even top 10. How much more can he improve his stock? I hear Pittman is 50/50. Even if OSU wins it all this year, he has an eye on the Heisman next year, and that is just as compeling to him as NFL millions. He would have a shot at it to, since OSU will be breaking in a new qb and JT will likely lean on the run game, and Pittman has a nice career going. When you get into the 3 seasons of 1000 yards club at OSU, you're joining extremely elite company. People will notice that.

Haven't heard anything on Gonzo. I assumed he'd come back, as next year would be his chance to be the man, but who knows.

Even if Ohio State loses Ginn and Gonzolez, I'm not worried about their WRs. Robiskie is a stud #1 option. Hartline is looking like he can easily fill gonzo's role as stud #2. Then you've got talented youngins like Dukes and Small, the latter of which Ted Gin Sr says is a better WR than his son. There are a handful of other WRs who we haven't seen much of, but have talent to spare.

Pittman would be a big loss. Right now OSU has just Pitt, Wells, and Wells. If Pitt goes pro, the Buckeyes would be a Chris Wells injury away from sucking hard core at RB. Certainly some kids would have to change positions if Pitt leaves. I know there are a handful of players on the defensive side that were excellent high school RBs, so they'd likely have to dip into that pool.

Again, the big concerns for next year are QB, DT, and I guess RB if Pitt goes. Here's hoping the allure of the Heisman is enough to bring him back.

You guys think that highly about Pittman eh. I didnt think he was that good.

Pittman is a talented dude who really deosnt get the credit he deserves around here in Columbus

as for the buckeyes if you can find solid QB play I think you will be more than fine especially with the schedule.....Dont sleep on that Antonio kid....he is talented......I also heard that Scheonoff is more talented that Boeckman and that f he plays well in the spring he should come out the starter....tahts just what I heard

Im not trying to be a hater but I think some buckeyes are a little too high on Robiskie and definatly too high on Hartline......I think the passing game will struggle next year.....defense should be very solid though and as I said with the schedule OSU will have a great year

hartline had solid hands, quick and strong. Robiskie showed what he can do. also smalls is really fast. WRs will be great again.

Pittman reminds me of Droughns, and I mean that in a good way. Droughns has great vision, and is at least decent in all other areas (power, speed, cuts, accelaration, etc). That's Pitt. The guy has really good vision. After that, he may not be exceptional in any one area, but the fact that he's not bad in any one area means that overall he's pretty good (like Droughns). He might not be lightning fast, but he's got enough speed. He may not have the most power, but he's got enough power. And so on. Many RBs are better than him in one area or another (besides vision), but they have some other weakness in their game. When you look at the whole package, he's better than them. I guess that's why he's underappreciated, b/c he doesn't jump off the charts in any one area. You can watch Chris Wells carry three guys for 5 yards, and say "Damn, that kid has some power" and that is something tangible you can wrap your brain around. But with Pitt, nothing is great like that, but everything is good.

It's generally accepted that Schenhoff and Henton have more talent than Boeckman. This is b/c they both have canons (Boeckman does not), and Henton is more mobile. Boekman has an edge right now (obviously, he was the number 3 QB, ahead of the other two) b/c of his experience with the system. I'm sure all will be given an equal shot in spring, and it's certainly very possible that Boeckman will not get the job. I just give him the edge right now b/c he's currently ahead of the others.

So henne is coming back then??? If thats the case michigan should be the #1 ranked team next year, yes even over OSU.

Henne will definatly be back......you gotta love 4 years starters at QB

he will lead an expierenced UM offense that will be off the charts....we are loaded at rb and WR and TE and our Oline will be much improved next year as well

defensvily we have got a lot of leadership to replace....Harris is gonna be impossble to replace.....we have no replacement as of now which scares me

but our dline will still be nasty minus Woodley is Branch comes back they will be the best in the country

preseason UM should be number 1 or 2....USC returns alot of talent but you never know how many will go to the NFL with them

OSU wont get a ton of preseason love but should eventually be highly ranked IMO

OK, I've hit my (very reliable) sources, and they confirmed that Ginn and Pitt are gone. Concerning Pitt, he feels that given the beating he takes, he should at least get paid to take the hits. Add an increase in Wells’ role next year and you can see that his value as a pro most likely won’t increase next year and may decrease. :bigcry:

I guess we will find out how good Saine and Herron are, as at least one will get pushed into action next year. Saine has been described as Reggie Bush with power, Herron as Clarrett without the drama.

I'm also hearing that the following kids are waiting to see where they project in the draft before making a decision: Barton, Gonzo, Gohlsten. Barton would be a huge blow. He is a very good OT, and OSU is not all that deep at Tackle. My guess is Rehring would move to RT.

If all those players decide to go, that would be pretty rough. OSU would be losing 60% of its OL, while breaking in a new starting QB, RB, and both starting WRs. Of, and a new starting FB as well. The only returning starters would be Boone, Rehring, and Nicol. Uggh. The offense would be like this year's defense (new starters nearly across the board).

If Gholstein goes that means the entire starting DL will need replaced too. :(

Yeah, I just saw that. I would link in an article, but they're pay articles on both scout and rivals right now. I'm sure bucknuts will put a free one out in the next 24 hours. They always do. Another win for Matta!
