Bulls center Eddy Curry could be cleared to resume physical activity as early as Thursday or Friday if team doctors accept the diagnosis of a prominent Los Angeles-based cardiologist.

Curry, a restricted free agent, could command a salary in the six-year, $67 million range under the guidelines of the new collective bargaining agreement if he re-signs with the Bulls.

Other teams could offer Curry roughly five years and $52 million. Cleveland and Atlanta are two teams who reportedly will have interest in Curry once the free-agent recruiting period begins July 1.
It remains to be seen how this medical situation will affect Curry's ability to get insurance on a long-term contract. But such details aren't the ones concerning Curry after this latest dose of optimistic news. Neither is the fact that he has gained roughly 10 pounds in close to three months of inactivity.

Never liked him. But I know some of you guys are fascinated with his "upside". Too bad he generally shows his downside.

eh, I would rather make a play for Chandler but Curry is a viable option.

Yea, I read this in the Tribune this morning. Hopefully he realizes his full potential some day. He had his enlarged heart tested - they asked him to rest for a few months - he went back in and it was the same size, so its not from exercise. The one doctor wanted to do some DNA tests but he said no - he's gotta get back into game shape - a long way to go, and his heart will ALWYAS be a concern.

He doesn't exercise period, even when he is playing. To be kind to him, I'll just describe him as lazy.

I'd only be interested in Curry as an option if Z isn't brought back. Curry would also have to be affordable. There's no way I'd give him a huge contract. Even with his problems he is still probably the best young low post true C in the league. He's also still only 22 and did average 15 and 6 last season.
Even with saying that I wouldn't have major interest in Curry right now and I don't think the Cavs do either. This rumor has only come out of a Chicago paper and no Cavs writer has mentioned any interest they have in Curry.

Never liked Curry either...I hope he is not even on our radar.

a bit more lazy then KEMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would be way too worried about his work ethic, especially after getting a big contract. Id try to stay away from him if possible. But with the thin pool of centers available this offseason we may have to settle for him. Z is still our best option.

A surprising thing today was LeBron bringing up Curry's name at the press conference for his bikeathon.
LeBron was always said to be a Z supporter and has been quoted as saying he wanted Z back. It's really interesting that he would bring up Curry as a player he wouldn't mind being signed.

Like I said earlier, I'd only want Curry if they decide to let Z go and if Curry can be signed to a reasonable contract. It would be a big risk to throw big money at Curry. He does have talent and is still only 22 but the questions about his work ethic and how much desire he has do make you worry.

curry is restricted. The bulls aren't the suns. I highly doubt the bulls let curry escape, especially to a division rival. Yea right.

I've never liked curry, and I think it's wishful thinking that we'll be able to sign one of the dalembert, chandler, and curry to take Z's place if we don't resign Z.

Too much of a risk for me. This guy is an Isiah Thomas type of player though, and would fit perfectly on the Knicks, who need some front court talent and like paying luxury tax for guys to sit on the bench
