when i was growing up rooting for the indians i used to wonder why my team could never have players good enough to win the big awards like the cy, otoh, my son thinks its his birthright to root for a team that produces a cy young award winner every couple of years

Happy for Shane. Great regular season and got a taste of the Post Season. Hopefully his next start in the Post Season is better than his last.

Also, thinking about the long term ramifications of him winning the Cy Young. Is he less likely to take an extension? I know that is usually how we maintain flexibility, ie carrasco, ramirez, and others. I feel as if this makes it harder to keep him beyond his arbitration years.

so the answer remains Al Rosen
-
btw, Freddie Freeman in the NL

Whats the question? Who was the last Jewish person in Cleveland sports to have any significance besides an owner?
