He was threatening to go to Europe if we extended the QO, he didnt want to be in Cleveland, not sure why.
He clearly thought he would get paid more elsewhere, and couldn't. And when he got paid even less than the Cleveland QO, he didn't go to Europe.

Well, it's really weird we pulled the QO, that was the main move I hated this past offseason more than any other. Mobley is not a C today.....and I don't think he will ever be one, he should only ever guard centers when helping or on a switch. He doesn't have the body to bang. He's either going to get gassed early or get injured when playing bully ball.

He opted out of 1.8, we didnt pull the QO, we never offered the QO. it was 2.1.

In the end he went to clippers for 1.7. I dont think he wanted to be in Cleveland, if he did he would have been in Cleveland.

Mobley is out 6-14 games. Lets not pretend 6-14 games of Hartenstein would move the needle at all....the guy would foul out in 25 minutes of game action. He is literally averaging 3 fouls a game in 16 minutes of game action. Its kind of hilarious. He fouled out of a game in 17 minutes against Portland, lol

Really tough break because Mobley was playing great and the Cavs were one missed 3-point shot against the Wizards away from a seven game winning streak.

The next four games are against the top three teams in the NBA according to The Athletic's power rankings. Hopefully by the time we play Orlando on Nov. 27 Markkanen and Love will be back.

As for Wednesday's game against Brooklyn, Allen will still be out so it will be Wade or Fall at center along with a bunch of forwards and guards. Could be pretty ugly.
We were likely losing 3 of the next 4 even if we had everyone playing, so in some ways this isn't the worst time for this to happen - losses are losses in the end. What's going to be hard to watch is one of our biggest defensive weaknesses, the inability of our guards to prevent penetration, is now going to be magnified by having no shot blocking on the back end. Hopefully Allen isn't out long.

By pull, I mean having the option but not utilizing it, giving us a chance to match if we wanted. I agree with X that maybe it had something to do with chemistry or personality conflict because he seemed like he was worth 2.1 million to provide insurance to protect Mobley being forced into playing C.

If the Cavs can get through Mobleys injury and stay at .500 or above I’ll consider it a drastic success.
we just need to pick up enough wins over the next month to not get discouraged and to stay within shouting distance of .500. If we can keep playing at the level we are at now, once we get most of the team back, there are a lot of very winnable games starting about the middle of December.

I have a better idea: let's not pretend that Hartenstein was supposed to to be the replacement for Mobley being out. He was supposed to be the replacement when Allen is out so that Mobley does not have to play out of position as a center, like he did last night against Horford.

I hate to say this but there may be a bit of a silver lining here, our wing situation is atrocious and some of these losses will help our pick. Kinda just wanted to make the play in due to how bad our wings are. We finally have our franchise player, now we have to surround him with talent.

yeah the fantasy of a 4 seed and a fairytale run to the ECF led by our dazzling superstar rookie was nice, but realistically this team still needs work and a lottery pick would be nice too

Yeah, not saying he would move the needle in any way, just provide more than Tacko when we want to avoid the wear and tear on Mobley.

Hearing Mobley may be out up to a month? Is this true?

Hit the nail on the head. Stay competitive, try to steal a few games, try to stay as close to .500 ball as we can, and make a push when we’re healthier and the schedule let’s up.

People throwing in the towel on this season are our standard post-loss alarmists.

I'm not of the thought Mobly got hurt last night playing center. However...

The 4 just might be his most productive spot period, I think outside of finding a legit sf we need to find that back up center, sooner rather than later.

so where is Fi? still dont get cutting him over Tacko
