I dunno, man.
Look, I understand why they've kept Mobley out this long. That's how the league works these days. Future franchise player chips a fingernail, he's missing four weeks "just to be sure". People's jobs depend on making it look like they're doing everything in their power not to endanger the golden boy. That's what it really comes down to.
But basketball is just too unpredictable. You can keep a guy out for ages, making sure that he's absolutely 100% without any doubt when he finally returns... and then he gets injured again on a freak play within the first 5 minutes. There are limits to how much you can control this stuff.
15 years ago, they'd have kept Mobley out for 3-4 days and after that he'd have played with a bunch of tape on his elbow, or a brace. This is a guy whose main impact right now is changing shots, just keeping the interior defense together. You can't tell me he couldn't do that playing with a slightly sprained elbow.
I'm sure Mobley himself has been itching to play from day one. But we all know you don't control this stuff yourself unless you're a superstar.

I've been playing softball with a sprained knee. 5 months ago I thought I'd need a week, two tops. In that 5 months, I've been playing much worse than I otherwise would and have not healedI dunno, man.

Mixed feelings. This kid is the franchise. They need to be careful with him & not rush him back. I’m sure he’s chomping at the bit to get back out there, but it hasn’t even been 2 weeks that he’s been out and this was reported as a 2-4 week injury.
Agreed. We don’t need him against Orlando and can win that one with a patchwork lineup. Why are they rushing to get him back in the lineup? The only thing that makes sense is they legit want make the playoffs this year, at all costs. With Mobley, the Cavs are a playoff team & potentially a 4 or 5 seed.Gonna love watching him again, but would rather have him sit against this sorry Magic team.
