I would take a flyer on zion, but not at 231 million dollars.. on our squad you play him 15 minutes a game, where he is an absolute wrecking ball inside, then deploy our suffocating defensive squad between spurts..

Cam Reddish: he was the youngest wing in that class, playing behind hunter. I think he would have done better in Cam Johnsons slot in Phoenix.. But there are red flags aplenty.. I don't think he fits in our culture. I fear he is being put in a vulnerable position in new York. I mean his role model may wind up being Julius Randall...

Reddish was actually old for his freshman class. He was born in 99 while guys like Zion, Garland, Barrett, Herro, and KPJ were all born in 2000.

Absolutely sucks for the Pels that they have to pay Zion who may come back and wreck the game OR may be the next Greg Oden. Garland has a solid floor; Zion’s floor might collapse under him due to weight.

Philly had a similar problem with BS but they dumped that problem onto the clueless Nets.

Garland over Zion? Definitely the "safe" pick.

But who knows? Zion might still be Barkley 2.0.

Just not a first overall pick.

If only Zion rebounded and passed like Barkley did. Zion is basically Barkley without the passing and rebounding in an Era of basketball that is much more reliant on threes. He's an exciting player so his marketability will make the contract worth it for the Pelicans. But will the on court product ever match the contract? I don't think so. I don't think Zion is a winning player.

Zion is a great passing forward. Have you watched him?

He's not a great passing forward. He has some playmaking. But not like prime Charles Barkley.
He is nowhere near his prime.. if he gets stays healthy..bur with 200 million dollars in his pocket, does he Love the game enough to play it..

I don’t remember Charles Barkley ever having the same type of injury issues that Zion is having. I truly think someone’s body is not meant to withstand the kind of forces that Zion places upon it, at his weight and over an 82 game schedule. I don’t think he’ll ever be healthy for a full season, unfortunately, and the Pels will regret giving him that extension.

Love Chuck but Zion was literally bringing the ball up the floor and running PnR. Even back at Duke, their best offense was when they dumped the ball into him and let him create for himself or others from midpost or high post. And this was a team with Tre Jones and a "point" forward in RJ Barrett

Barkley at 27 had .4 assist more per 100 poss as Zion in 20-21.

Barkley at 23 had better Assists per 100 possessions then Barkley at 27 had. Barkley peaked at 6.5 Assists per 100 possessions which he did a couple of times in his career. I don't see Zion topping 6.5 Assists per 100 possessions during his career. He may meet that mark. But Zion will never be the rebounder Barkley was and it was someone else who compared him to Barkley which as things currently stand is disrespectful to Barkley.

Chuck also shot 3s like he was the 1990s version of Steph Curry but with the accuracy of 2020s Ben Simmons. I actually don't love Chuck as a comp for Zion in terms of anything but body shape. Zion is a legitimate unicorn in terms of how ridiculously good he is in the paint. The only legitimate comp there is Shaq

If Zion stays healthy and in shape for a decade he’s going to have a hall of fame career. That dude is ridiculous when right. It’s a HUGE IF…but the Zion takes in here are a little wild. He’s good enough to become one of the best in the game when healthy.

Barkley was also are completely uninterested defender. He rebounded hunted like 2014 Kevin love. Turned his back to the defender to hunt rebounds.
