As a Virginia Cavaliers alum I’m biased, but would love to see Kyle Guy have a spin. High IQ, plays off screens, can make the right pass, hits the 3 (especially corner), high FT%.
Kyle Guy is TINY. That won't stand out so much in the G League, but it will in actual NBA games. To be effective in the league at 6 feet, you need to have some truly elite skills or other attributes.

It's not enough to "make the right play" if you can't guard anyone, can't see/reach passing lanes and can't get your shot off against 6'5'' guards.

No thanks. We already have Pangos, who was apparently a superstar in Europe.

He seemed like he barely had to try last night. Just very in control and able to pick and choose when he wanted to shoot

I only saw him in summer league, but he seemed to run the offense. I can't figure out what Pangos is actually doing. He seems to be trying to get to the basket only to get stuffed.

Nembhard also played within himself and hit some shots. I would prefer him over Pangos as well.

If Zion keeps snacking Darius might just be the 2nd best player out of that draft behind Morant….
Comparing Darius and Ja might be interesting. They're so different in their approach to the game offensively. Let's look at offense.

FT%
Ja: 75.4% career.
Darius: 86.4% career.

On the subject of FTs: Ja is a high flying rim-attacker who averages 5.3 FTA. Darius only averages 2 FTA career (2.5 this season). 62% of Ja's FGA take place 0-10 feet from the rim. Darius only attempts 40% of his shots from that range.

3P%
Ja: 32.3% career on 3.4 3PA.
Darius: 37.8% career on 5.3 3PA.

On the subject of 3s. Darius shot 35% his rookie season. 39.5% last year. and 39.2% thus far this year. The trendline is highly favorable. Versus Ja who shot 33%, 30%, and currently 35.6% on increasing volume each season. Some detractors would point out that Ja has only been assisted on 56% of his career 3P, and Garland 66%, and somehow this can explain the difference. To which I say: that's what you get for being a ballhog. but seriously, that number is down to 49% for Darius this season. He's running the show and creating his 3P shot more than it's being created for him now. and it's still going in.

Ja averages 7.3 assists per game career. Darius = 5.3. Ja came in as something of a finished product in this regard. Being healthy also helps. Garland has been slower to develop, but he's caught up.
Seasons 1 through 3: 3.9 -> 6.1 -> 7.2. We can look at potential assists and all that, but for the sake of saving digital ink, I'm just gonna call this a draw. They both pass the eye test as legit floor generals even if they do it a little differently.

Turnovers are basically a wash. Ja's are a touch higher but he also has high usage.

Ja is clearly a more physical player and this likely accounts for his superior rebounding numbers. As does being a rim attacker. You're closer to the rim on drives and kicks, you can get your own misses easier, etc.

Last note:

Darius seems to be about a year behind Ja in raw production. This makes sense due to the nature of Darius's injuries. Ja averaged 19.1 pts last season on 15.2 FGA per game. Darius this season: 19.5 pts on 15.4 FGA. Ja is averaging 5 more PPG this season, but he's also taking 3 more shots per game. We just need to keep unleashing Darius the scorer and I'm sure the gap can be bridged. If we go on effective FG% that takes 3Ps being more valuable than 2Ps into account, Darius appears to have surpassed Ja as an efficient scorer already.

Ja is a year older too, isn't he? He was the guys I was wrong about. I thought we would see a small team effect like Cam Payne. Cam is doing pretty good too lol.

Pangos has been awful, there are atleast 20 better options out there for 3rd PG.

But fortunately he have needed Pangos zero in minutes that matter so really a non issue and just move on after the season.

Now that Collin is down, it's crucial Rubio and Garland stay healthy. Pangos can't come in to do anything but drive the tank. He's supposed to be a great 3pt shooter too, but he can't get it off with anyone near him

I think we're going to need a reasonable 3rd guard before the season ends. If either Darius or Rubio gets hurt, it'll change things a lot. And Rubio looks tired now to a degree.
I'm so impressed with Garland but I don't want to wear him out either.

What says mature more than finding a way to continuously impact games, even when you become the focus for opposing teams?

“Milwaukee was a bump in the road for him,” Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “But you keep looking at his total body of work and he’s been playing well. He’s grown into a leadership role, makes his teammates better. So I think that’s the thing, it’s like don’t pay attention to those small pockets and continue to look at his total body of work. And he’s been impressive.”

It’s hard to argue with that.

With each passing game, Garland continues to prove that he is more than just a candidate for the league’s most improved player -- he’s got legitimate All-Star aspirations.

“When they are making shots, my life is totally easy,” Garland said. “I’d rather pass the ball than score to be honest with you. So whenever they’re open, I’m giving it to them so they can make the play and shoot the ball. It’s just feeling with me really. I think that has changed since last year, just watching a lot of film, seeing how they are going to guard me.”

There probably 20 better options in the G-league ……..
