Triple doubles won't be easy playing on a team with a front line of Mobley, Allen, Love, and Markkanen. He's going to have to lurk at the free throw line for those long rebounds (which is what he was doing last night).
I actually disagree. JBB was talking about this specifically yesterday. It’s a common misconception that just because we have a tall frontcourt, they’re going to gobble up all the rebounds. We’ve seen from the last couple weeks that that isn’t true. Particularly against teams that shoot a lot of threes, rebounding opportunities are there for guards.

Glad to see that Garland rose to the challenge and got himself in position to get those rebounds.

@Futuredome ( ;) )
In regards to 'Garland hero ball',
DG is now tied for first in the NBA for points per possession with isolations on 8+ percent frequency.

-------
1a) Darius Garland (9.3% frequency, 1.18 ppp)
1b) Karl Anthony Towns (10.5% frequency, 1.18 ppp)

2a) DeMar DeRozen (16.6% frequency, 1.13 ppp)
2b) De'Andre Hunter (very small sample size, 12 games played, 10.6% frequency, 1.13 ppp)

3) James Harden (31.3% frequency, 1.11 ppp)
4) Ja Morant (11.4% frequency, 1.09 ppp)
5) Kevin Durant (18.3% frequency, 1.08 ppp)
----

Garland has the highest effective field goal percentage of every player that has 'Isolation' as a playtype with over 8 percent frequency (64.7 EFG%). No other player is over 60 percent.

Mitchell likes DG. He was the first Cavs player Mitchell approached after that close loss too.

Yeah, but what does Donovan Mitchell know about basketball or being a good basketball player at the NBA level? He should listen to Futuredome more and his outlook will change on how bad Garland really is and how he is 2 years away from actually being good.

time to downgrade lob assists from 1/2 an assist to -1/8 and assist. So the triple double should be taken away, I also think we might want to look at assists where all Garland is doing is giving it to the trailer on the secondary break, I mean anyone can do that. Maybe -1/2?

So sick of this kid hiding behind easy lobs and big men who run the court.

Not an all-star and all his shots are lucky.

So like what is Garland in 2 or 3 more seasons? Curry really didn't blow up till his 5th season (injuries play a part), I dunno I just find this really encouraging. His passing game is just beautiful to watch develop, that Steve Nash camparison is apt.

Can't imagine. Him and Mobley are going to light the league up when they do.
