Probably by age. Kyrie was pretty young when he came in. He was 18 and Garland was 19
Nope. Kyrie was born in March 23, 1992, so he was around 22 years, 7-8 months at the start of the 14-15 season.

Darius was born Jan 26, 2000 so at the start of this season he was about 21 years, 9-10 months old.

That would be a stupid excuse to compare them Year 3 vs. Year 4 anyway. But let's compare 21-22 DG vs. 13-14 KI. How does that comp look?

Lets see TO THIS POINT: Garland takes more 3's and hits them about at the same rate. Kyrie took more shots overall and has a higher scoring average. Garland has more assists(inflated by a freaky surge in assists the last 5 games). They seem like similar guys in terms of absolute production. Of course Lebron exploded onto the scene in 2014-15, which caused Kyrie to improve his shooting, assists dropped a bit. But was the better player. Of course I expect Garland to regress in a few areas. He isn't imo as good as Kyrie 2013-14. But if he keeps this up, he will be according to the numbers.

Garland's assists are "inflated" by him assisting on a lot of baskets. :chuckle:

It's a little known fact that Kuzma is 31 years old.
It’s a little known fact that Kuzma’s name backwards is Amzuk.

As many of our Indian posters know, Amzuk is an artisanal clothing label embodying the spirit of refined craftmanship and Indian textile traditions. A celebration of slow fashion, decidedly delicate shapes and subdued details. The brand was born out of a desire to create handcrafted apparel that occupies a space between daywear and loungewear, crafted solely using natural textiles to make pieces you will desire and cherish.

Founded in 2019, together with a team of artisans and designers placed between Bengal; the home turf of the celebrated mulmul and their namesake of sorts, Lucknow and New Delhi. Tasked with a simple vision to create one of a kind handloom pieces that mirror the exuberance of Indian crafts with an old-world charm.

The ethos of the brand is in taking age-old crafts and motifs out of their predicted artisanal contexts and giving them a new spin to create elevated designs.

3/10

Edit: k, Googled amzuk and this shit is legit. 100/10.

How the fuck...

I think the Cavs would have done just as well or better with any number of different high-end players replacing Kyrie. I don't think that was a relationship uniquely suited to LBJ as much as it was a relationship uniquely suited for Kyrie.

I don't think so. Lebron needed KI to take over at times and score the rock. I remember multiple 40pt games KI put up in the finals.
Don't diminish KI, he played his best on the biggest stage. No one else would've helped us overcome that 3-1 deficit.
It was the KI 3 that won it all.

He also played horribly in the first two games in that series. Like, really bad. Go back and read the game threads. That's part of his problem. When he's on, he can score you a lot of points. But when he's not, he hurts you badly.

And we know LBJ can win with people other than KI because he's won three titles without Kyrie.

I think Kuzma could have been something special, but they gambled their future away to win a 'chip. Now they are paying that cost.
He let himself go last season tho just like Klay has had to work himself into shape. Warriors not giving up on Fat Klay.

Darius on the short interview with Shams today definitely sounded like he thinks the Cavs can go a 'couple of rounds' in the playoffs. HYPE HYPE HYPE

JBB is trying to Thibs this kid into the ground.
You’re absolutely right. No NBA player can ever play 40 minutes in a game, or else his legs will fall off within the next week. Happens every time.

The proper move with Garland is to wrap him from head to toe in bubble wrap, then sit him on the bench for every game, never allowing him to play even a minute. That way, he’ll never get hurt, and he’ll still be able to sit on the Cavs’ bench when he is 40.

Weird the player comparison finder said Kyrie's first year he was 19 even though he turned 20 during the season, but Darius said he was 20 when he also turned 20 after the calendar year changed. Must be whatever age you are for the bulk of the year. Kyries birthday is in march and Darius in January.

Sometimes it can help to compare ages, but yeah I agree it isn't in this situation as their gap is like 3 months.

Their 3rd year numbers are so so similar. Kyrie had slightly better percentages and scored 2 points more per 100 poss. Darius more than makes up for that with 2 additional assists.

I think Kyrie was more polished, but I have no trouble saying I think Darius affects the game more and has more impact. He's probably less able to just will a win, but I think he more consistently helps you win and is the better player at the same point in his career. It's hard to believe and I am sure you can argue one way or another.
