We literally played great team basketball the last three games, all of which Garland also excelled at.
Tonight we played a great team, that has been together a while, that has system reinforced from the continuity of players and coaches working together for 3-4 years, who has a great defensive personnel. We scrapped, we fought back. We had some success and we have some things to work on.

DG is the primary ballhandler. Some of his shots are going to come from his own creation. That does not mean at all that team basketball is not occurring, He did what he did very efficiently as well. 31 points on 19 shots is excellent and not ball stopping.

The length to which you are going to discredit or act like the growth we are seeing out of him is no big deal is staggering.
This bolded part is really important. Quinn Synder is a really good coach and I would want him if he were a FA. These Jazz guys are all smart and there are several of them who shoot the 3 like they are superstars. I'd have said a good portion of those 20 made 3s were bad shots if I had to judge, but they make them consistently.

This was a case of a vet team taking advantage of some young ins and they still only lost by 1. Plenty to criticize, but the game could have been won if they just passed it to the Jazz one fewer time.

Can you guys imagine, with how raw Garland is and how he is still 2 years away from being good, how good he will be in 2 years??

He has an outside chance at a 50/40/90 season as a 21/22 year old and he isn't even good!!

Garland is up to

19.7PPG
7.2APG(4.0TO…the one thing that he’s gotta work on)

He’s all the way up to 39.1% from 3.

Overal his splits are creeping up toward the mythical 50/40/90. I think he’s definitely a guy who could enter that club one day. If not this year—-he’s up to 47.4/39.1/87.3

He’s also averaging 1.3 steals per game. Has drastically improved his defense from abominable to slightly below average.

It hasnt been mentioned enough how Garland is no longer a Steve Nash level bad defender. He gives effort on defense, is staying in front of people and fighting through screens. Now he is also getting caught fighting threw screens, cant stay in front of the quicker pg's and his lack of height makes it harder to get out on 3 point shooters....but I will take "almost average" defense from Garland. Even as i was a huge fan since day 1, I never thought his defense would even be this good.

Not many PG's are good defensively especially when they are this good offensively. Its the only position i am ok with a bad defender. Well that and your instant offense guy off the bench like Clarkson.

I still get freaked out with how much air Garland puts under his shot. The arc is insane, does anyone have any comparisons who shoots like this with this much of an arch? Do you guys know what i mean?

Oh my god is it happening? Is he LEAPING!?

And just imagine how much better everyone would look offensively if every possession wasn't 4 on 5 with Okoro on the floor!

Makes Turner.
Enjoy

Eric Snow's free throws?

I loved Eric Snow. But when i googled "Exact opposite of Darius Garland at pg", a picture of Eric Snow came up, lol. There games couldn't be more different. But Snow was a pro's pro and a local kid, but a few backboards refused to play in some games because of Snows bricks, but never seen a guard get more out of limited athletic ability on defense than Eric Snow.
