Really hard for me to figure out if Garland is any good. His injury makes his track record pretty much end highschool. He could end up being great or terrible. And when you are betting on an unknown, the safe money doesn’t gravitate to “great”. I can’t say the pick is terrible, I can say that it seems very risky, especially with the fit issues, which are about the only thing I can be certain of here.

"angry" only because there is no "thumbs down".

I hope Sexton grows a couple inch and bulk up to play SG and make it work this time. Unless like Kyrie and Waiters situation.

I doubt that is the Cavs plan. I think Sexton could be traded by winter. The Cavs just didn't view him as BPA, but BPA over Sexton.

I hope not...that kid’s a beast.

I think they were preparing Sexton to play on and off the ball. It's something they didn't do a good job of doing with Kyrie. Dion really couldn't play off the ball. It will be interesting to see what Garland's off the ball skills are. Garland being a good 3 pt shooter should help when he plays off the ball.

We have a coaching staff that's going to be working on developing players. That means defensively too. I full expect Collin to at least improve slightly. Also, did you see the entire team last year, with our defensive coordination? There was no focus at all on that side of the ball. Everyone needs to shut up for now because Longo's defense will have nothing to do with our team ever again. If in 2020-2021 Sexton is a shit defender, we can panic.

Better prospect, Trae or Garland?

Depends on if you want a score first player or a facilitator. Garland has better handles and wants to light it up. Trae has that Steve Nash mind set to get his teammates involved every opportunity he gets. To me its like comparing apples to oranges. As a pure point guard Trae Young is a better prospect. As an overall player I think its a wash. Garland has more defensive upside but Trae has that knack for getting his teammates involved.

Stoked with this pick. Him and Sexton can co-exist.

The other 2 picks are a bit meh, would have preferred Keldon Johnson but see how they go

Whilst I wasn't the biggest fan of taking a pg at 5, I can acknowledge Garland was probably the most talented player at that pick and he automatically becomes the most talented young player on our roster so you can't dislike the pick from that perspective.

I hope he and Sexton can work defensively. I'm not too worried about offense with Collin embracing off ball play throughout last season having played with Hill, Clarkson and Burks.

If we can build a Dame and CJ type combo, we can go places. Roster balance is integral now.
