We had major offensive issues when he was acting as “the man” two years ago. Don’t you remember? Teams would load up and swarm him and our entire offense would shut down - he couldn’t get free and he also didn’t pass out quickly or decisively enough
This is why really good teams have two scoring threats both of whom can handle the ball.

A not that wise man once said "Stop trying to find a way to FIT-OUT and just FIT-IN"

DG needs to stop doing the same thing over and over again and expecting something different. He's gotten at least 9 shots blocked in the past 3 games. He continues to insist on dribbling into 3 guys, and he continues to insist on forcing up shots at the rim when it's not there. It didn't necessarily cost the game against the Knicks in the 4th quarter, but to barely get the ball back via jump ball after a near dribbling-into-3-guys-turnover, just to go back to do the same thing again and lose the ball is just mindboggling to me.

This isn't 2021 anymore. This Cavs team plays differently and has been effective when moving the ball around. Also, the opponents have adjusted to what he likes to do. Time to adapt

scouting report on garland: slack off the 3, allow dribble penetration but guide him to a help defender, wait for the outlet pass

Garland hasn't had his head right ever since Mitchell got here. Garland had illusions of himself being the man, lead guard, repeat allstar, etc., then suddenly Mitchell was here and his bubble was burst. He hears the talk and knows he may be gone if Mitchell re signs. Sure he has his good days but he's checked out most game to some degree. Although we hear Mitchell singing Garlands praises we don't see the opposite much.

I’m beginning to wonder about team chemistry. We didn’t seem to have it as the season began, but that wasn’t a big surprise given the new guys we were integrating. Then, somewhere In December, we got and kept it up to around the break. Now we seem to have none again. The older guys + Ice seem to really mesh. Throw the young guns in and something is missing. DM, Allen, Strus, Ice, Wade, Niang, Merrill, TT, all seemed to really enjoy playing together. Now we look to be moving back into the joyless basketball we saw early.

Garland did reveal last win that he's been dealing with the death of his grandma, so that would explain some of this year's tribulations combined with the injuries..

Last year, not sure how that statement is even remotely true..

He had a serious eye injury last year and a broken jaw this year. Those are very frightening injuries. It’s one thing to break a leg; it’s another to be unable to see well or eat properly.

It’s been a very difficult couple of seasons physically PLUS he’s had to turn over the reins to Mitchell when he was a legitimate all star at 22.

Last three games he’s 20/34 from 3 averaging 40 mpg (too many) and no Mitchell or LeVert to help carry the playmaking load. It’s great to see his three ball come back. He’s got that three level scoring skill but the midrange isn’t back yet.

But everyone is ready to bury him.

He might be better off elsewhere but I don’t agree with those that think he peaked at 22.

Garland is 24. But your point still stands.

I'm just unnsure how to feel about the fact our time line has been sped up(with the Mitchell trade). We were suppose to be an up and coming team developing players and making play off pushes each year. Now we expect championship.

I’m an admitted Garland apologist but that doesn’t tell the whole story. Garland had a much of kick outs to wide open guys (Strus, Okoro, Niang, Wade) and they missed.

Would love to see the advanced numbers on “potential assists” from last night

Yeah it says more about the other players than Garland

DG should buy Dean whatever his favorite dinner is for saving him the absolute roasting he deserves after that 4th quarter.

I’ve never seen Darius play so boneheaded for such a long stretch like that, and that includes his rookie year debacle.

Get it together DG. We need you now more than ever.
