The Athletic has a column on players who could be dealt at the deadline. Here's their writeup on Cedi:

It will be difficult for Koby Altman to find a new home for Osman because he will be paid $8.1 million next year and $7.2 million in 2022-23 before a non-guaranteed final season. That is simply too much money for a wing who has not proven he can score or defend well enough to justify a high-end rotation spot.

The other big challenge is the duration of Osman’s deal, as the 25-year-old does not make sense in a deal for a worse contract because there are not that many other role players with multiple years of fully guaranteed money out there. Expect Osman to stay in Cleveland for now, but a strong second half or beginning to next season could open up new destinations.

Geez, we're stuck with him for two more years.
Stuck with him and Love.

Last night Windler grabbed a long rebound and started up the floor with Cedi on his left. After crossing the time line Windler saw defenders ahead and decided to give the ball to Cedi and started to give him a bounce pass, but then realized Cedi was lagging behind and had not crossed the half court line yet. Windler froze and the loose ball was stolen and converted into a bucket.

This caused relentless homer and cheerleader Austin Carr to point out that Cedi was loafing up the floor and that's what caused the turnover. You almost never hear Carr criticize a member of the Cavs, but he called out Cedi last night for dogging it.

Yes, Windler should have glanced over to make sure Cedi was with him before releasing the ball, but Windler was not exactly sprinting so it's understandable that he assumed Cedi would be there. I replayed it and sure enough, Cedi was doing his best Kevin Love imitation, jogging slowly along making no attempt to catch up to the ball or get ahead of it and possibly create an open shot for himself or somebody else.

I would have pulled his ass out right then and there and he would have never seen the court the rest of the night. Osman only played 19 minutes. He wasn't tired or winded. When you're a bench player your job is to come in with energy and play with max intensity until you're exhausted and get taken out. You're not going to play 36 minutes so no need to pace yourself or take plays off.

I'm done with this guy.
At least this reflects well on Windler. This kind of effort is a good 60% of the problem with the team right now. I figure so many of the team's turnovers are caused by people not being where they're supposed to be.

9 games in March he is averaging: 6-3-3 in 21mins on 25% and 23% from 3. He is averaging more shot attempts than points. His best shooting night was the first game of the month when he went 3-7, 43%.

Why are we giving him any playing time at all??

wow... must be a record...

Untradable at this point.

That might be for the best though. I think he can find his role on this team but it will take time and some roster moves may help. I think he sees himself as 6th man as the roster is currently constructed. If we can find a more true 6th man and Cedi can be his 2nd option or a 3rd option with Garland or Sexton being on the floor too, he might settle back into a more familiar role that he once had.

I just think he is out of his element right now coming off the bench. He really should have just been able to go to the bench and had his minutes reduced but his overall role was still the same. I think he wanted to step up into a scoring role he wasn't capable of.

does Altman lead with "well, he worked out with LeBron, KD and Kawhi once.. so, there's that" or does he wait until the deal starts going south?

I would honestly support bringing one of Sexland off tht bench just so Cedi doesn't play more...

Holy shit....

let me tee this up, living in Chi I don't get to watch many games (and 2 daughters under 5)

however, tonight, I get to see my Cavs with the local Bulls broadcast team.

and all I see are locks....flowing through the air...perfectly placed band to keep the pomade from his eyes.

Bravo Cedi. Swan Song.
