Frustrating player. I can't tell you why he is unable to adjust his game to the NBA. I do think a change of scenery would help him. As much as we say, "Oh the instability hasn't hurt Sexton" I think it has hurt Cedi
Collin has been a latchkey kid since he got to Cleve. He could handle it. I think your right. Cedi needs structure. Bet he would thrive with the spurs

If you watch the video he did all the same things he did last year with the cavs,,the leaning 3,,,the spin move into traffic in the lane,
but they all worked in the video...with the cavs he was a mess. I don't know if its confidence, level of play or the instability?
If I was an NBA team and drafted Sengun I would try to get Cedi as well to help ease the kid into the NBA. Wouldn't think it would take much to trade for Cedi.
I've seen Sengun mocked to the Spurs,,how would Cedi and Sengun look on the Spurs with Pops system. Love to see it.

I break everyone who plays basketball down into two categories (though some can be both): basketball players and hoopers. Hoopers are the guys that you can just roll a ball to and can play their game almost regardless of coach, system, teammates, etc. Basketball players are the guys that need specifics like system to thrive.

On the Cavaliers, I think Collin is a hooper, whereas Cedi and Love are basketball players. Garland and Nance I think are both.

I love that Cedi is the primary ball handler and best player for Turkey

Just like Love, this should help his value this summer

Is this an issue when evaluating Sengun? Like Cedi is the best player on the floor, does that mean Sengun sucks? Don't know what to make of it

@adam81king might have a good point here, where our structure is too loose and Cedi doesn't understand his role and he just doesn't fit.

Yeah the strange thing is that he seems like such a physical player internationally, but in the NBA he gets punked pretty regularly and pushed around. He is the weakest strong guy

I am haunted by the ghost of Pop. Cedi will go there. Sexton will go there. Nance will go there. All will become the best versions of themselves. We will get back "promising" players that will go into the black hole.

I dont think Sengun sucks at all

Cedi has seniority and in this role as slashing initiator, he's clearly their best and most important player

If Turkey was running a high post offense like Denver does to utilize Jokic's passing and all around game, but Cedi still showed himself to be the go-to guy for Turkey, then that would be some kind of indicator for Sengun limitations.

Its important to take into consideration the way these international teams work though. You've got NBA vets like Ilyasova and Korkmaz and then Turkish all stars with alot of experience in their league who know how to execute a gameplan and who know how to make sure young kids like Sengun get onboard and execute what the team needs so they can qualify.

Osman is their best player and part of that is this is his 2nd (or 3rd) tourney in their system and the offense is geared to his strengths unlike here with our instability and evolving (read primitive under JBB offensive sets)

Sengun is 18 yrs old.

Cedi is a nice guy and it’s great that he’s playing well for Turkey, but I would really prefer not to watch him play basketball here next season. He’s just such a frustrating player who doesn’t really do anything that well, after showing a lot of promise his rookie year and that following Summer League.

His 3 is regressing, he can’t to the free throw line, he’s strangely only gotten worse on defense, and his finishing has declined to being just awful. He’s a good facilitator from the SF position, but beyond that he’s so disappointing. And he makes me want to gauge my eyes out with every bricked open three.

The only value he has is as expiring and I believe that is two years from now ?

Maybe a there’s a good team that wants to take a flier on him being able to contribute in a bench role? Otherwise he just needs to ride the pine here.

Can we add a 3rd category? Call it spaz and put Cedi in there.

There are just too many games, particularly against top teams where he just tries to play way too fast and tries to do way too much. He needs to calm down.

I think he has some real skills but he just can't seem to play within himself and let the flow of the game come to him. When he doesn't press so much he looks pretty good.

Cedi out here hoopin'.

The look like the Casspi videos when he'd play in Europe between NBA seasons: he looked like Kevin Durant.

Just a huge difference in the speed of the game (players bigger, more athletic, smarter) and the longer 3 pt line. When they come back, they go from having a Durant like advantage in athletic ability and skillwise to the guys there playing to being the guy Kevin Durant hunts down

Another huge difference is coaching
