Somewhat speculation on my part, but I wouldnt be surprised if he has a partially torn ACL or MCL and they’ve been waiting to see if it will re-attach on it’s own.

I say that as I have a fully torn ACL I’m waiting to have surgery on. Throughout the process, I learned a small tear in the ACL can fully heal in three months or less depending on the severity. If it’s completely torn, it won’t re-attach.

Given the time frame and an additional MRI, it at least seems like a plausible explanation.

I’m guessing it’s something like you describe or a partial meniscus tear.

Interesting. A new MRI. I think that’s #5.

It would seem then it is not a complete tear at least.

Some borderline case perhaps?

I imagine it is a Grade 2 sprain/tear.

If I recall that is the case with the most uncertainty.

Honestly, shooting gingerly. No lift, like he’s thinking that I don’t want to land on that right knee with much force. The shooting motion is fine….. the legs…..not good.

JK.... hope he is able to comeback next series... need extra wing defenders to match up with Boston and Dean had some nice games against Boston....

Dean is fine except for his knee. And his family is perfectly healthy and fine.
Thanks for this info. It sucks that his knee is a problem, but across this board everyone had nothing but good wishes for the other concerns. When there is an information vacuum combined with the timing of his private life circumstances it's hard not to wonder if it was something more than the knee issue, and a relief to know things are well with the most important stuff.

Weird it would almost be like the Kawhi Thing in the playoffs where the Clippers just called it a knee sprain when they clearly knew it was an ACL tear. But why would Cavs do that for the 7th guy off the bench though.

Information vacuum for sure. No idea why they can’t separate the personal reason for 2 games and injury from each other for the public.

When it comes down to things like the birth of a child, the bad things that potentially can happen are much bigger than a basketball game. Very glad to hear his family is okay.
