I want to be careful of small sample sizes, but I see one big difference - length of runs on the court. KBB would put a guy out there for 8+ minutes, rarely shorter. This also impacted the number of players who saw the court. Atkinson is closer to 4-6 minutes, then grab a breather.

Nick Nurse had Embiid play the entire first and third quarters last season. That ended well.

Seriously? That's insane.

I'd be more tempted to go to the opposite extreme with a guy like him who can become disengaged. 6 minutes at a time, maybe 4 off. I'd definitely try pretty damn hard not to play him more than 8 at a stretch because he slows down too much.

Seriously that’s what he did. I saw it either on TV or at the games. Embiid would play the entire 1st and 3rd and finish the 2nd and 4th, coming in around the 6 minute mark but sometimes the 8 minute mark. If the Sixers were well ahead he’d skip the fourth.

Nuts.

Nurse is cut from the same cloth as Thibs. Nick Nurse is part of the reason am less worried about the 76ers than I should be.:

Injury-prone top-end talent with a coach who tends to over-play his top-end talent.

Not a recipe for a healthy post season roster.

I think the Knicks aren’t a good long term bet for success either. Or Milwaukee, for different reasons. Dame waited too long to leave Portland.

Nick Nurse was a fan favorite to replace JB among far too large a population of members on this website. I always hated the idea of bringing him to be the coach of this team. Glad the Cavs never got a chance to make that mistake.

Just wanted to give credit to Wade for how good he looked playing small-ball center. Had no idea he had that in him!

He is extremely versatile. Praying he stays healthy for the year. I dont mean the 2 games he missed with the flu, that happens, just keep him from an extended injury and healthy for the playoffs.
