This guy was getting DNPs even with Love and Nance out. Lamar Stevens, Prince and Cedi starting at PF before him. JBB is a moron, it’s not like he suddenly learned to play basketball the day he finally got the chance. Any competent coach would have started him as soon as Nance went out.

Lets not give JBB credit for taking a 10 game losing streak to realize maybe he should get a chance...

I'm not a JBB fan, but I think killing him for this is a little much.

Dean Wade had shown little to nothing in limited minutes as an undrafted FA. He's now starting less than halfway through his sophomore campaign (after playing mostly G-League as a rook). It's not like this guy was toiling on the bench for years.

I would normally agree, but at that point what had Lamar Stevens shown? We saw a whole painful season of Cedi running the 4 we know it doesn’t work. Having Drummond and Allen run the 4/5 together before even giving Wade a shot is mind boggling

I guess I just don’t think 10 games is very long. Also, IIRC Wade entered the lineup after we had a chance to practice for the first time in a while. Not sure that’s a coincidence.

JB just does not recognize where the talent is and it’s certainly not just limited to Dean. He just tries to plug guys in with no plan. Just watch his sub pattern. It makes you shake your head. Most coaches have a plan but throw it out the window based on what they are seeing on the floor. You just do not see that occur with JB. The one exception I saw last night (which is rare) is that he subbed Windler for Dodson during crunch time at the end. I believe that was at least based on what he had seen and I applauded that move.

Lol. That was coincidence if you knew what occurred during a so called Cavs “practice.”

Don’t we have this guy signed up for like another 3 years at $1mil a season? Could end up a huge bargain

Love is likely sharing a mil or 2 with Dean as long as he can continue to be a cheerleader with a strain for 3 months.

And fractured his metatarsal near the end of his junior year as well. Played with a broken foot against Kentucky in the sweet sixteen game. He’s not a Kevin Love. He played with a broken foot his junior year and his senior year completely tore the fascia in his right foot and only missed a couple weeks. He was easily a draft pick without those two injuries.
Yeah Dean did say back then he was so frustrated with his injury and wanted to play healthy against Kentucky. It was such a big blow to him and never really fully recovered in his senior season. That is why I thought giving a chance to Dean would allow him to get the opportunity to showcase himself and he has done really well so far.

To be honest I don’t remember his defense being that good. His team defense and IQ has been surprisingly good.

He moves like a SF. He can stay with guards pretty well.

I'm rooting for him. I saw his ability from the very start. I still prefer Sir'Dom because he is my guy, but what can you do?? I was his coach too.

Curious about Sir Dom. I noticed he didn’t play yesterday. Is he injured? The Charge have had a rough start.
