I really hope Dean is not talking shit about his current coach with his high school coach. Would not be a good look for the young man.

Guy looks like he might be able to play a role off the bench for a decent team, which is a pretty nice bargain for the Cavs.

My thoughts are my own. And yes I do have my own opinion. I don’t need info from the supposed “insiders who know all.”

If you're undrafted then it's more likely than not you won't even have as much success as Wade has already. I don't think he's a starter either, but who knows. If he can make it as the bench PF over ten years or so he can make a nice chunk of change. He's done well so far and I hope he keeps getting better.

He actually reminds me a bit of Craig Ehlo. Obviously they're totally different types of players, but Ehlo wasn't even in the NBA when the Cavs grabbed him after Price had his appendix removed. Craig built a really nice career for himself. He wasn't particularly outstanding in any facet of his game but he was a solid, competent player that any coach could count on.

I want to like Dean Wade. He's the profile of guys that end up being my favorites.

Wade is turning out to be the Windler we wanted.

Low skill but high motor

wouldn’t see a minute on a good team

this is your 2021 Cavs smh

No reason Dylan can't come into his own. Strength for not getting bumped around on defense is a factor. Besides shooting. But once you're a good shooter you're always going to end up being able to make shots. The reverse is the tough one. You don't all of a sudden become a good shooter if you never have been. Being a good shooter all of his life gives hope. He's just got to pull the trigger a little quicker. Be ready to shoot with good footwork. Can't catch and then get ready.

Of all our interesting guys that Koby has brought in around the edges (Windler, Stevens, Thomas), Wade looks like he may have the highest upside. Legitimate size, nice touch, high IQ, hustles defensively. If we're gonna shit on Koby in the rant thread, he at least deserves some props for Wade.

A nice development in his game: starting to just let it fly without hesitation. I thought he played too passive / unselfish when he started to get minutes. Building up some confidence now. Having guys that can space the floor will really help open things up for Sexland and Allen in the paint.

Coaching staff deserves some credit also.

Wade also has a higher floor than a bunch of our players. Windler hasn’t played that much but it’s far from clear he’s going to be an NBA player either physically or mentally. Stevens, Thomas, Cook - obviously none of these have proven they can stick. Delly is very limited (no threat to score). Cedi - he’s regressed. Okoro has the physical tools and a good attitude but offensive skills are very weak.

Wade did ok last night on a bad night overall.

Wade had 14 points in the first half but only 2 in the second. It looked like the Sixers started taking him seriously and shut him down.

I love his defense and his rebounding is solid. The shooting comes and goes but should improve with playing time and more confidence. I tend to agree that Wade has more upside than Stevens, Thomas, and even Okoro, even though he's a few years older than Isaac.

Wade has scored in double digits in five of his last seven games. The question is how much his minutes will decrease when both Nance and Love are available.

Agreed, really like what I'm seeing from Wade. If Stevens spends his summer shooting thousands of corner 3's, we might be saying the same thing about him a year from now.

Windler has the skill, but not the strength, not sure if he'll ever be able to overcome it, just so frail physically and maybe mentally some too. Thomas is interesting, good size and nice looking stroke, but nothing else that translates as an NBA talent, like many prospects, if he figures out that he is strictly a role player, he could carve out a niche, but a lot of player's ego hold them back from that role.
