the problem with dean wade right now is lauri and kevin are playing well. even with lauri's poor shooting performances, he hustles and makes plays. dean is sort of a "safe" player. fundamentally sound, will be in position, but not forceful enough to make something happen. with 2nd and 3rd units, that is ok. but we have both lauri and love for that right now.

Wade is in his best role right now as an 9-10th man who can get some rotational mins in proper matchups or step up when we lose a guy ahead of him. JBB has been known to run a short rotation so the 4ish guys (Healthy windler, Rondo/Godwin, Lamar, Wade) we have who are in that 9-10th spot won't play every night.

Our team needs to get deeper, better starters at the 2 and/or 3....Wade's best role is 12 or 13th man. If he is 9-10th, we need more depth. We are getting there.

Agreed. I think Okoro will get to that point soon and Lamar will be a bit higher than a 12-13 guy, but between this draft and using the MLE this offseason we should be able to get some more rotation level wings.

Huge opportunity now for Wade, he needs to step up.

Hasn't shot it well this season but his minutes have been choppy.

Last year in 19 starts, averaged 10pts and 40% from 3, on 5 attempts per game.

That plus some solid defense would be huge while LM is out.

He was legit one of our best players last year lol

So far in January Wade has scored 6 points in 42 minutes. But he only took seven shots. He's only made 1 of his last 11 three-pointers. Maybe with more consistent minutes his offensive game, limited as it is, will come back.

What we need is the Dean Wade who had 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in 40 minutes against Golden State. Or who scored 16 points with 10 rebounds against Houston in 34 minutes.

He also made only 1 of 5 free throws the last game. Scary! I hope that he and his teammates can improve upon this as well.

The volume concerns me more than the percentage. The previous 2 years show that he can shoot from the NBA 3 point line, but that low of a volume speaks to lacking confidence. I don't expect him to give us everything Laurie gives us offensively, but he can't let the guy guarding him have what amounts to a night off either.

He might just need some minutes. He hasn't had consistent playing time. Last year when he got a string of starts he played pretty well, but yeah I would like him to launch some 3s.

No explanation why Okoro is the only one to hit his fts recently

Great job playing well when he’s been getting shut out of the rotation. Dude is always ready. Team desperately needed him tonight on both ends of the floor and he responded.
