4 years, first year guaranteed at 375,000?
year 1 - 375k (this seasson)
year 2 - 1.5mil
year 3 - 1.7mil
year 4 - 1.9mil

If he ends up being a good player we have him locked away for under 2mil per season for the next 3 years and if he isn't we can just cut him

Basically him and McKinnie are same. If they prove to at least be useful in practice and garbage time they stay. If not they are let go. Although I could see Wade carving out a role of 20 MPG or so with TT heading out. Minutes behind Drummond KLove and Nance will be up for grabs. And Wade being the best shooting big we have besides KLove may give him the leg up in the competition.

Mckinnie really needs to shoot the 3 better or I would be cutting him next season

Wade is still 23 and he has the profile of being a good stretch 4 while still being a good rebounder. His defensive instincts are more along the lines of porter than Sexton or Garland too. He has lots of college experience and knows where to be and is light on his feet.

He moves like a SF instead of a 4. I think he can be a combo forward. I am pretty high on him. He can be a backup 3-4 at the minimum I think. He really performed well in the Gleague.

Looking at some scouting reports, he was one of the best players in the country before the draft, and he got hurt. He stayed healthy all year. I dunno. If Nance is the 4 after Love leaves, I could easily see Wade as his backup and they could play together in what could be a really athletic small unit, where Wade is 6'9"/6'10" and Nance is 6'7".

The thing that is interesting to me about his defense is that that scouting report says he played pf on the best defense in the country but says his defense is not good. I think it is underrated. He made some very good defensive plays including blocks when he played for the Cavs. He blocked 3 shots in under 5 min I think one game. He moves his feet well, and I think he is a better defensive prospect than people think because of his IQ. he can get back fast, which is half the battle.

He makes the league minimum and plays decent defense. That's the type of guy you keep around as the last guy on the roster. He may not deserve minutes outside of garbage time because of his shot but if he works hard at practice and plays hard nosed defense that's a positive.

Yep. Until we have a positive wing defender we need him. Our best wing defender is likely Nance, then McKinnie with a long dropoff after that. He was crucial in several games including the Spurs wins(at least the 2nd one) and the overtime win in Miami. Had some legit defensive plays.

No disagreement with Cabs about his shooting though. He needs to shoot the 3 better.

Geriot seems to be a great shooting coach. I can't deny he seems to have taken Cedi, Sexton, and Porter and gotten "bad shooters" and gotten them to shoot well. I just having a guy like that working with these dudes is very valuable and gives you more confidence taking a guy like Deni or yikes even Ball maybe?
