Ok guys the tribe has spoken... not en masse like I had hoped but it looks like we stick with VB and hope 5.0 takes us back to the promised land.

I'm not the most active member, but i am a Cavs fan and this is a place i will always check out. Plus i run my own forum on the side too. I use vBulletin as well. I've used phpbb was happy that it was free but i eventually upgraded to vB due to the more variations you could make with less hastles.

I've seen some impressive IP board forums. But nothing else really compares to vB.

I say stick with it, which by the sounds of it you are.

Just an update... The guys who host RCF are vbulletin experts and they are telling me that I need to give up the dream that VB5 will be anything more then a waste of money. They think we should jump to
[h=2]http://xenforo.com[/h]I've looked it over and its very fast to load but the problem is I really don't like any of the themes I've seen. I really don't know what to do but I do know Vbulletin is on its last legs and we'll have to move on sooner rather then later.

Are there any security holes in the current version of vB? I'd just stay with it if not! It's awesome the way you have it set up

I mean, you've gotta do what you've gotta do. I wonder what would change aesthetically.. Like avis, rep, thanks button, etc. I really wish I could find that golden penis; never had the chance to have one.

All of that will change and more. Xeno isn't old enough to have as many plugins and hacks as vbulletin does but its clearly the forum software of the future.

Ben, I can tell you right now, that if you upgrade to vBulletin 5, you will regret it. The gaming forum I am on upgraded to it recently, and it was a crap show. Avatars in the thread view are all the same TINY size, quoting is gone unless you work some crazy voodoo magic, it doesn't remember if you've read a thread or not, doesn't show page counts on the thread view, if you read a thread on Tapatalk it will load on page 25 and no other pages will load, it's really abysmal and atrocious.
