Deni Avdija Full "UNGUARDABLE" 2019/20 Highlights ● Welcome To Cleveland Cavaliers?!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Draft this dude man

I like Deni, I do.
But i'm not going to defend him if he turned out to be bad, and i'm also not going to take credit if he turned out to be great. This draft is a crapshoot, and i'm way past my prime as a draft evaluator and i'm not longer a draft junkie and one that has access to advanced stats and all that shit to have any real solid facts and opinions that I'm willing to die on a hill with. Also, league has changed so much and will continue to change, so it's tough to have a solid grasp of who's going to fit the mold or break the current mold.

I do think he is much better than Nathan rates him at, especially for this Cavs team, but who the heck knows.

I just don't like his shot creation in half court. Is he a 4? Is he a 3? Reminds me a little too much of Derrick Williams when he came into the draft.

Well, Avdija has very few red flags on the defensive side of the court while the career of Derrick Williams fell apart because of defense.

I think it's worth mentioning that the free throw percentage seems like the big red flag. It's improving but lower than one would prefer from a wing. His three point percentage is improving and at age 19 is better than Luka's at the same age in European play. He isn't a point guard level offense initiator, but the Cavs went and drafted two guards under 6'3 the past two drafts, that's not on him. I've seen very few built 6'8 players who can see the court the way Avdija can.

I don't know if he will last until the fifth pick, but the criticisms I've read are pretty overblown. He's not Luka and he's not a prototypical American wing. Doesn't mean he isn't on his way to being a starting forward in the NBA for a long time, and the Cavs only had one guy like that in the past 20-25 years.

Lamond Murray rolling in his grave.

Lamond Murray rolling in his grave.

Wait, he was ever alive? Chris Mills is the only guy who should have beef with my statement, and he is 84% beef himself.

His season high in the Euro League is 13 ppg? Wow, what's not to like.

Looking at the footage he's really good at dunking uncontested. He has a nice 3-point stroke but I don't know what his shooting percentage is. The most 3's he made in a game was three.

He looks comfortable handling the ball on the break and throws a nice bounce pass. To me he looks like a Cedi Osman who can go to his left a little and is a better passer.

Solid evaluation sir.

I don't really see it....:dunno:

Watch the Rockets working the Thunder in a playoff game.

Sure you want scorers and you want guards... but the Rockets are giving big minutes around their stars to PJ Tucker, Robert Covington, Jeff Green and Danuel House. Five small forwards who can defend the perimeter and paint, who can do a little bit of everything on offense.

In today's NBA, the point guard doesn't just run the offense, the shooting guard doesn't just shoot, power forwards don't just defend the paint, and centers don't just block shots and score in the post. Those days are gone.

Today's NBA wants five guys who are long, athletic, and can do it all. Devi is one of those small forwards... and he looks like he is going to be really solid at it. Instead of putting up advanced stats against Louisville and Virginia Tech in regular season games, he was winning MVP of a men's league at age 19 as a 6'9 jack of all trades.

That isn't run of the mill.
