Deni Avdija Full "UNGUARDABLE" 2019/20 Highlights ● Welcome To Cleveland Cavaliers?!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Completely joking with you, basically any Paul Pierce joke around here is next level. I am hazing you into the club. Congrats, lol.
Oh good lol, I admit I wasn't sure if you were kidding. I come here basically everyday, but usually I have more to learn than to add to discussions, so I tend to just stay in my corner, that's why I don't post as much. ;)

I'll march you 15 miles into the woods and take you to my own private graveyard. Remember that.

Please, I know that play, you don't think we have learned to defend that bullshit since the Holocaust? Its going to take allot more than that.

I lurked a few years before posting. If you have Paul Pierce jokes in you, you should post more. Not everything has to be about adding knowledge to the board. Opinions and jokes are important too. If you have been coming here everyday, I bet you have opinions allot of us would like to hear, and then of course I always welcome a good joke.

That's why I have Okoro over him. That's his claim to fame, winning. Does all the little things, but might have more upside too.
Do either of these have a high motor and fixable jump shot?

Motor is one of Okoro's main features. I think Deni has a good motor though.

Jumpshot is a good question. Both have deficiencies there. Deni's Ft% is below 60 ouch ~55%. Okoro is sub 70. He is at 67%, so 10 points higher than Deni.

My feeling on these 2 is that Okoro has more "elite" qualities than Deni. He finishes super well and has a tight handle for his size. Great body and athleticism. HI IQ. Maybe able to guard 1-4. Swing skill is shooting. If he can fix the jumpshot he might be very very good.

Deni is an all around guy. He can't break down the d though. Great handle for his size. That and playmaking are probably his best skills.

I think both are ready to contribute now, but my opinion is that Okoro has a higher upside.

can't see him getting to pick 5

At some point you have to at least mention that Okoro has the height and reach of a shooting guard, but he is strong. Deni has true forward size and has a decent frame. Can't get around that important detail.

Deni is PF size. He has great size. Right about that.

Honest question here -- to what extent do people see Avidja as being sort of younger, better Nance Jr? 3-4 tweener with a shot that needs some work, smart floor game and passing, etc...

I trust Avidja's ball handling a lot more, especially in transition. There's no way around the fact Nance is more explosive and more polished.

It was an honest question because I don't know. So next question...is ball-handling really that important a skill for a 4?

I'm just trying to sell myself on him if he's the pick. If I'm looking for the skills I'd value most from a 4, I'd probably go with defense/rebounding/shooting/ shooting...and others below that. But leaving aside specific skills for a moment, what is it about Avidja's game that would make him more impactful/different from Nance?

Because while I love Larry Jr., i wouldn't take him at 5.

Deni has always been a worse shooter especially from the line, which is troubling. He can be the primary pick and roll ball handler, which Nance rarely does. I guess you would say he has more swing potential as a 3-4, but that is not even for sure anymore as Larry killed his minutes at the 3 and was super effective as a 3 and D guy.

One of the analysis that I saw about Deni not being a fit for the Cavs was that he needs the ball in his hands. He would essentially be replacing Cedi as hopefully a better ball handler and passer. However, Cedi rarely gets a chance to do those thing in the starting unit. He has turned himself from a ball handling 2 into a 3 and D wing(3 better than the d), but is that how Deni would be best used? I'd say no. If you give him Cedi's role, not only would it be a downgrade in shooting, but you would not be putting him in a situation to use his unique skills, mainly passing and ballhandling. Maybe the defense would be better against bigger guys?

That's interesting. I'm truly ignorant because I don't know anything about the guy other than what's been said on RCF, and a very few highlight videos. I get that he's got a high BBIQ, etc., but I'm struggling to think of the role he'd fill. If he's good enough to be an assist leader at the 4, that's nice...but he doesn't offer the other things that made Draymond such a beast in his prime. Good ballhander (for a 4....), pretty good passer, good team defender though nothing particular to write home about. Is that kind of it?

I guarantee that Deni is going to be a better shooter than Nance. I don't see the similarity at all.
Deni will able to provide in any role he will be assigned to.

He will be much better with NBA spacing as far as cutting, penetrating and creating goes. His former team Maccabi is really struggling without him btw.
