Oh boy, this could complicate things if it goes to court again.
I think gun to your head truth the Browns and NFLPA didn't mind the six games. The Browns, with this year's schedule, easily could see a 4-2 record with Watson coming back. Watson most likely didn't like the suspension, but the NFLPA wouldn't die on that hill.
They are saving that for what they would consider an overreach like indefinite suspension and $10m+ fine which most talking heads now expect to come down.
Ray Lewis' fine was $250k and he was charged with obstruction of justice involving a murder. Shaun Rogers was fined $400k for his gun conviction taking a gun through Hopkins airport. Jamal Lewis was fined $760k after pleading guilty to drug charges.
For the owners/coaches, Bill Belichick was fined $500k for stealing signals versus the Jets. Eddie DeBartolo was fined $1m for his corruption case with a governor.
The Saints were fined $500k for Bountygate, actual documentation of attempting to injure opposing players/QBs. Patriots $1m for deflategate. Dolphins $1.5m for illegal tampering of an MVP coach and QB. Daniel Snyder/WFT $10m for a hostile work environment, and is yet to be fined for sexual harassment, skimming millions of dollars for years from the NFL, drafting for sh*t, screwing up a cherished franchise for over two decades and being a world-class d*ck.
Now if you can convince me Watson=Daniel Snyder, fine him $10m, suspend him indefinitely and call it a day. I can't see how an eight figure fine doesn't get reduced through a federal appeal and we wind up back at six games when all is said and done.
