Deshaun Watson Soap Opera

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So, let’s say Watson is totally innocent here. What exactly are all these women looking for? we’re taliking, 17 girls? What is the end game for them and the lawyer. If one thing is obvious, Watson must be in a lot of pain to have this many massages.

Money/publicity/sense of importance.

As someone who has been involved in lawsuits, they are very rarely entirely frivolous. Always based in some level of fact, and then perhaps slightly exaggerated, as prosecuting lawsuits in incredibly expensive for all parties, in an effort to reach a settlement. That said, keep in mind that, if depositions occur, and the girls go on the record as this actually happening and it actually did not, then the accusers would themselves be committing a crime..and they may even be able to turn that into a conspiracy against DW if accusations are proven false.....that said with 14+ lawsuits, Watson and his team are botching the hell out of this. No amount of 6 figure payouts would be 1) worth this PR situation short and long term, and 2). Now, to clear your name, you will likely need to spend millions on millions, plus time, energy and brain focus, to clear your name....and in a case like this (and many lawsuits) judge or jury leanings will be a huge factor, so you are pretty much gambling...and if people are willing to take it the distance you may be on the hook for appeals, etc.

Settle this shit ASAP, loosely apologize for any wrong doings, and start doing Pr on women advocacy, sexual assault, etc. the last thing he needs is to be such a toxic asset that his football career ends AND he has to deal with this issue

Yes, plaintiffs rarely make up the entire basis for the lawsuit from nothing, but often the truth is innocuous. In this case, that would mean fully consensual sexual encounters. Although in this case, I would not be surprised if at least some of the unnamed plaintiffs made shit up completely.

Pretty tough to settle cases when the vast majority of plaintiffs are only identified as Jane Does, which may suggest that even they are not that keen to come forward and identify themselves. I wonder why.... And of course, since any settlement can only cover those people who are parties to it, there would be absolutely nothing stopping Buzbee from settling those cases, and then either he or someone else files another dozen Jane Doe lawsuits and repeats the shakedown. If that's what it is. Only Watson knows for sure on his side..

The time to have settled this -- assuming Watson wanted to settle -- would have been before all the PR damage was done. At this point, he'd be shelling out seven figures anyway to settle with a sleazeball and a bunch of shadowy plaintiffs when the accusations are already public. As it is, if he'd settle now, then everyone will assume he is guilty, he loses a bunch of money, and there is nothing preventing this from being repeated. If Watson knows that these allegations are false, then he'll also know that paying off false accusations -- especially from Jane Does whom their lawyer has refused even to name confidentially -- may just make things worse.

Settling is often the smartest choice, but when there are accusations like this being made, and there is a known sleazeball on the other side who refuses even to name the complaining parties, I could see the client refusing. And I might not even say that he is wrong.

This woman hasn’t filed anything yet and doesn’t seem interested in working with Buzbee apparently due to his style (which many have questioned).

Things just keep looking worse and worse for Watson.

What a creep. Knew there was a reason for him wanting out of the area. He knew what was going down and threw everyone under the bus in the organization. What a douche.

Not as poorly as Watson’s reputation.

But I’ll gladly stand by the thought that these women deserve more serious representation than Tony Buzbee.

Now, don’t get me wrong, under no circumstances do I trust any police department.

But making this a spectacle, in which you reference your own mayoral campaign, isn’t something that your clients need you for.

@Damage told me that Deshaun used the same type of bleach on his asshole before it was greased.
