Deshaun Watson Soap Opera

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

This looks even shakier... the entire case is that he asked her to massage somewhere she wasn't comfortable with, she declined, and that's it? Not even that it was an outright sexual request?

I mean, I can see a way in which a dude sleazily asks a masseuse to do something like that in this way, and that's problematic, but the ice underneath this case is looking really thin.

So even if true, from this it sounds like he asked for her to do something, she refused, she asked him to leave, and he left. Isn't that exactly what one should do when an advance is turned down?

I'm struggling to see how this is anything other than, at worst, Watson being, as you said, a little sleazy. But from that description above, I don't see how he did anything illegal.

Was this a jerk shack or a regular massage place? Big difference.

Man, just trade the dude instead of half-cocked ( :chuckle: ) attempts to slander the guy as part of your weird revenge fantasy.

The connections with McNair here are way too coincidental to overlook, it would be perfectly on brand with how these people have always operated.

Yup.
Also, no other organization in football is like the Houston Texans right now. They, currently, are worse than the Browns have been in the past 26 years (Yes, counting '95-'99)

Unless there is more to this story that hasn't come out yet, if all Watson is being accused of is asking a masseuse for a handy but not pressuring her when she refused or putting his hands on her, I'm choosing to believe that this is a calculated attempt to smear his name. I don't think it's a coincidence that the allegation is one that both can't be proven (unless there's evidence he didn't get a massage from this person) and doesn't actually accuse him of anything criminal.

There doesn't appear to be an end game here other than smearing him. This will get thrown out of court as is and there's no chance he's settling even if he is guilty of what he's being accused of because, again, it's not illegal.

If it comes out that the Texans had anything to do with the creation of this story, their franchise is fucked until a total house cleaning happens, starting with ownership.

The NFL is more likely to help them bury it for public relations purposes.

I don't know. Imagine the backlash from the players if it's found out the Texans were involved with this and the NFL did nothing. It's easier to force out a shitty owner that no one wants to play for than to deal with a potential rebellion from the guys who actually make the NFL money.

Taking a few steps back, this is an interesting study in how the NFL is an ownership-controlled league until it comes to quarterbacks.

NFL owners seem to win every small battle with player rights. While the NBA has become a player-run league and stars decide where they are traded, the NFL doesn't know how to react to a quarterback trying to control their own careers.

The difference between quarterbacks and the rest of the roster seems completely lost on the Texans ownership group. It's very hard for me to stomach some of the power games bad owners try to play, but they also look at their sport and think, "I don't want to end up like the NBA owners."

If I'm sure of one thing, I know I'm not going to get much pleasure out of following the battle between multi-billionares and the multi-millionaires on their payroll. They all seem completely out of touch, especially in a year like this one.

It’s amazing how the media have supported Watson to no end this off-season.
Imagine if this was Baker being accused of this and also demanding a trade after the signing of a new contract and The media would be ill over him and would KILL him. What a joke

Historically, the media has pretty much always sided with athletes asking out of Cleveland.

I’m not really even talking about that. I mean, who the F goes and asks someone to rub one out for them....
The dude has worth over $100 million. Go buy a skank or an escort for 5 minutes.
I mean, Jesus. Is this allegation not a form of sexual harassment?

The owner of the Patriots?

And probably half the guys who have ever gotten massages.

And I mean I guess it could be sexual harassment, but given that he didn't force the issue when she said no, I don't think you'd get an actual conviction for it.
