Destiny

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've completely hit the destiny wall. Literally the only two ways I can improve my character (305/306) is the raid one time a week, or getting lucky enough to get a 3 of coins to drop an engram that's 310 in a slot I need a 310 for infusion purposes.

Love the expansion for the most part. Few complaints though. With the old system, you could get your exotic, and it would be a max level exotic, now it can be anywhere from 280 to 310. The consistency is just not there.

In the old system, when you got a raid weapon/armour, you never had to worry about it being under leveled. Now, it can be from 300-310. So instead of relying on rng to give you a good gun, you also have to rely on getting good rolls on the gun, and a good attack rating. It's 3x the rng.

You get that awesome raid scout rifle, but it has triple tap, and you wanted firefly, or it's a 302, because why not.

The other thing is basically the content just isn't there now. Yeah there's technically more stuff to do, but strike playlist is the same handful of strikes over and over and over, crucible is the same half a dozen maps again and again, the old raids are completely useless, and so is the prison of Elders. They really should add a rotating nightfall like raid/prison playlist with it's own exclusive exotics/armour.

The grind is back in TTK, and it's better than ever. Grind hadium to get your sword, get kills with the sword, now go grind 365 (in my case) helium coils to get the 10 special ones. Now wait until Wednesday, not do this strike. Want to unlock the special crucible bounties, go play every game mode a dozen times, something like 44 wins minimum? Who thought that was a good plan lol.

Why can't they just let us play the game, and not force us to do stuff we don't want to.

Tbh, if you got that far you must have put in a lot of time. I'm 300 on 1 character and trying to get another character there now, and I still have a lot of quest to do. There are a lot of hidden gems on TTK as well. I know I've put in well over 50 hours and still have things I need to do. If you look at it by the time you've gotten out of it, you really can't complain I don't think. Compared to other games where you beat it in a week and never pick it up again. I think with Destiny, time goes by fast and we rush to complete all the content, then we are left with not much to do. I do agree with you about the exotics and the raid gear. I got 2 shotguns so far, one was 309, the other 302, shit can get annoying. Just wish there was a bit more consistency.

Why not just buy a different game that lets you play how you want?
Because until November 6th, there is literally not a single PS4 game I want to play.

As for how much time I have put into TTK, no idea. Maybe 100, maybe more. I'm not trying to complain about the value I have out of it, it's fantastic in that regard. It's just so repetitive. I even have my titan to 300 with the sword equipped.

Also pro tip for you guys, don't decode exotic chest engram on a hunter. I have 10 Crest of Alpha Lupi. Also if you are close to 300 and get an exotic engram, don't decode until you are 300, because they then have a chance to drop at 310.

The Nightfall is useless now too. The rewards are 280's weapons/armour, strange coins, and no xp boost.

If anyone wants to do the raid, regardless of experience level, I'm down. I've pretty much got it down to a science at this point. It's a really well designed raid, and very unforgiving. I hope hard mode isn't the same as it was for the other raids. If someone dies in this one it's over 9/10 times anyways (Oryx), so it's not much of a punishment.

The only problem I have with the raid is it can be buggy sometimes. People die for no reason, platforms disappearing, invisible guy becoming not invisible three platforms in.

Yep, I've been experiencing all of the things you have and i'm getting exhausted. I'm stuck at 305 with my main character. I do have my second character to 295 so I can use it in the raid for more/better stuff, but I don't have much faith in getting better drops. The raid feels ridiculously easy once you've done it- took my group around an hour and a half from start to finish the second time, and every single piece of armor/weapon that I got was either a duplicate that was lower attack/light or shards.

i don't get why they limited the strike playlist. it's getting to the point where i'm tired of the sunless cell strike, which is the coolest one IMO. i've gotten one exotic from the nightfall, but otherwise i've gotten total shit.

my exotics that i got early in the expansion are mostly worthless since they're at 280 and require an exotic shard to infuse, plus i've gotten so many repeats now that are at 310. the exotic pool available seems very small. like you, i have 4 crests of alpha lupi. I've gotten 5 obsidian minds (luckily my alt character is a warlock, i got them on my titan tho), 3 stags, 3 hawkmoons, etc.

i still have some quests to do (touch of malice, sword grinding), but they're just so boring and grindy that i haven't gotten myself to do them. it really feels like a lot of the changes they made were to increase the amount of time people play.

Sitting at 304 with one character and past 300 with the others. Since I've hit 300, 2 out of the 4 exotics I have decoded have dropped at 310. Have a chest and helm at 310 that I am going to infuse with my raid gear. Those plus the gloves will be pretty easy to get to 310. You just have to wait for that 310 boots drop from the raid. The only problem is, bungie has made it fucking hard to get exotic engrams or weapons/gear... I have completed the raid over 6 times and have not seen anyone get anything worth anything from a chest. The nightfall is just a waste of time, it's really a joke. The Iron banner is here this week, hopefully it has something worth grinding for.

I haven't found time and/or a good group to get all the way through the raid yet, so I'm at 291 lol. We should have a RCF Xbox raid group sometime soon ;)

I'm 308 now, the only two spots I don't have a 310 are completely left to luck. Ghost shell, and legs.

I did get the raid ghost, it rolled the worst possible way it could have at 300. I already had a 300 ghost, at least I'm swimming in wormspore! So I literally only have one way forward from here on my Hunter, and it's the raid.

If crucible wasn't so broken atm, maybe I would enjoy that like I used to. Whoever thought giving a single super the best parts of every other super should straight up be fired. Regen health check, multiple homing projectiles check, 2.5x damage check, aoe check. The way Bungie operates they will completely fuck the Sunbreaker for PVE, which is not a problem at all.

All they really need to do to make it less effective in crucible is nerf the damage resistance, and shorten the timer. It's fine that it can get instant kills, that's what a super is for, but it shouldn't be able to go all the way around the map, and survive sniper headshots or golden gun shots.

Blade dancer was so called broken, but in reality, a BD had to get two feet away from you to kill you, so the damage resistance made sense. And a BD couldn't survive a sniper headshots, a golden gun shot, or a shotgun knife to the head.

Bungie is releasing hard mode next Friday, and the light cap is going to be 320. I'm going to assume that like the current raid the fights will scale up in difficulty. All raid drops can be from 310 to 320 from hard.

300 being the base, and 320 being oryx. I would also assume that once you hit 310 exotics have a chance to roll at 320. In the destiny database it says exotics at 330, I believe from data mined stuff. The trophies say beating the heroic raid, so it leads me to believe there will be a third tier raid, because I believe Bungie was careful and didn't call this one heroic in the weekly update.

Count me in if you do this. I need a group to play with.

I've beat it a few times. But I'm always looking for a group. 301 titan. dano4410. Hit me up

Finally purchased the Taken King. Will be playing it all week long (outside of a few 2k binges).

So i got a Destiny PS4 because it looked nice, I decided to put in Destiny.

When I goto a destination to do a mission how come it's always full of 40s in the mission with me? Why do they not even partake in the mission and are doing something else on Earth? When one random 40 does come over to help, is the monster scaling to both us? Why isn't he 1 shotting this level 5 monster I'm fighting, is he just messing around?
How do i play with other level 5s? Is it impossible at this point?
Should I just use that 25 level booster?
Those blue/green blueprints or whatever, should I hand them in as I level or keep to use at level 40? Do they scale is what I'm asking.
I did whatever story mission there was for level 3 on earth then got kicked off, so I went back to the same place and now a quest I can pick up then do and then another one pops up, are those side quests or just filler quests? Do they actually end or is there just a few per area or whatever?

Replying to this with an explanation that makes sense will take me forever on my phone, so it's easier if you just add me on PSN and ask me questions in game. Do you have a mic?

Destiny can be done solo and be kind of fun, but it's a social game and requires playing with others to really get the full experience. I didn't play all that much until I found a clan full of really cool people who play regularly, and now it's a blast. If you don't have friends who play to do things with, you can join up with us. That goes for anyone here who still plays destiny.

My PSN is Oohdang
