DGood/LJax for Artest?

A friend of mine just called me on the phone and said that the radio station was talking about this rumor.

Has anyone else heard anything on this?

i can't see how it would make sense for the Cavaliers. with LeBron and Hughes in the fold Artest would be a guy off the bench and i can't believe he would like that. it wouldn't really help the Pacers any either unless they just want to unload Artest. but i would think they could get better offers around the league.

This is garbage, it'd leave us weaker on the bench and Artest can't play PF so we would either be putting Hughes at point and Artest at SG which I don't see happening. Why would Indiana want Gooden when there best player is PF Jermaine O'Neal. I'd love for this to happen cuz i'm an Artest fan. But if it was a serious rumor it would be on some of the big rumor sites. Won't happen no one get ur hopes up or get mad it's not happening.

Pacers won't trade Artest unless they get someone like Kobe or T-mac for him. So this will definatly not happen. Plus it don't even make sense since we have hughes and James already.

Bird is extremely high on Luke Jackson. So I think he'd take a chance on Luke to try to get rid of the pest in Ronnie. But, I don't see the Cavs doing it because it'll further the deficiency in big men and increase the glut at the wing. Doesn't make sense.

Rumor

Well, for positives, on offense we'd have lebron running point guard. Hughes running shooting guard. and artest running small forward.

on defense we'd have hughes defending the point guard. artest defending the best of the sg/sf and lebron defending who ever's left.

This would be a great trade for us. Artest may be a head case but he can D it up, making our defensive perimeter one of the best in the league.

Artest is only 25 years old still.

pg - snow and lebron (also gives gilchrest a shot at minutes, if we signed him) eliminates a pg signing, sorry saras jacky. hughes can handle the ball too.

eliminates minutes for bench shooting guard and small forward, no minutes for ljax anyway.
matchups are the nba and it gives us flexibility
defensive upgrade - without lebron on the floor you have snow, artest and hughes which all have been all-nba defense. i think that would upgrade our defense and cover z better.

They won't do this trade, trust me. And if he offered it I would accept it hug Bird and Walsh send them boxes of chocolates. Because that would be one of the biggest rip offs ever. Artest is 25 not even in his prime. The best defender in the Association, before the suspension was averaging like 27 points 6 boards and stuff he was insane, shoots 92% from the line. If we landed Artest Hughes would become the point guard, we could try and cut Snow using the cba because in 2 years he is making around 7.5 million that is insane. And use that money to make Saras the backup.

Hughes, Z, and Artest in one off season would be huge. Couple that with LeBron and does it really matter what position people are playing at that point or who the PF is?

Defense you just stick Artest and Hughes on the best guards and leave LeBron to guard the weakest of the 1 2 3.

But yeah, this isnt happening. Even if Artest is a huge headache, I'm sure Larry Bird could get more for him.
