I don't think the cap space does much for you, so if his defense actually helps the young guys develop, I think he is worth 20M.

It looks like we’re building a potential defensive culture with the Cavaliers...An active big man that can actually defend and rebound is what the need is.

Someone will overpay for the rebounding stats (probably a team like Atlanta or Houston or something) but the Cavs should not invest going forward...

We will have cap room we should spend it on someone who actually has talent, actually plays hard, actually puts the team first, if possible.

The Pistons didn't think his talents helped them win games. The question that has to be answered before the Cavs offer Dre a long term deal is whether his skills blend well with their young core players and what their style of play. They should know this by mid-season and probably sooner.

I agree,but I have a feeling we might trade him because he thinks he's the star on the team..He just freelances too much for my liking...You can't have that when you're trying to build an identity.

Yes, I’d absolutely re-sign him. I’d give him 3 options:

3 years, $60M
4 years, $75M
5 years, $87.5M

Maybe it got changed but the article I get says a Hayward trade was discussed and he's since been traded to the Hornets.
