Day three update; it’s been a week. He’s starting to eat on his own and drink on his own in larger wuantities. He’s very ornery, and they gave us a pain med to sort of calm him out when his stomach is sore/help slow him out so he can rest it out.
Update; for the first time in a week, we had a quick break from the dog. Left him in his crate. If all goes well with his vet visit tomorrow, going to crate him Thursday and try to get back to life.
he’s staying with a terrific friend Friday-Tuesday, and we’re getting a massive, much needed break. Can’t wait.
Left him in the crate for 2.5 hours, bone dry! And it was way too big for crate training rules, so we resized tonight.
Over the moon joy.
Awesome. Really happy that he seems to have turned a corner for you.Update day 4; he’s home. Alone. Dude ate so much food.
Hope your dog is doing better.
My dog's cough is doing better but now she is throwing/coughing up mucus-y liquid...including all throughout the night...including in my bed. It was just dry heaving before I went to bed so I didn't think too much of it throughout the night but now I'm walking around the house cleaning it up. Now I'm scared to feed her and go to work...
This is such a dumb question; We’re having success with no potty in the crate, and 3-4 hour spurts at night. How in the world do I get him to LIKE going into the crate? I’ve been feeding one of two meals in the crate, he gets a kong with some food in it during the day. Because I’m off work, doing a one hour in one hour out kinda thing, and his cries are definitely quieter, but he still does not want to go in, even with food bribes.
