My Favorite Doug Deacon quote was early in his broadcast career. Someone on the field committed a stupid boneheaded penalty and Deacon's comment was: "What a Boner!"

Met him once about 15 years ago at my local gym.

Was super nice. He knew a couple of kids I had gone to HS with and asked me about them.

Unfortunately, football had taken its toll on him. It looked painful to him to walk.

I heard a rumor years ago that he was gay? I think it would be pretty powerful if an old school guy came out but I also get why he would prefer privacy on this, too. He will be missed, he was a familiar voice on game day. I wonder if Bernie takes his spot? He can always start the broadcast from the Mini lot.

Dieken’s TD reception was hilarious. We had horrible WRs that year and he scores on a fake FG. The intended receiver was the PK but Diek stole the show.

Dieken is the Cleveland Browns tho… He was on the radio for all the good 80’s years, the fun Belichick/Testaverde year…. And since ‘99

He is the voice of the Browns to me…. Obviously replacing this #73 with another #73 would be ideal but I doubt Joe would do it since he has other gigs like Rambo 3
