Any great places to hit for drinks and a nice restaurants??

we love any food but like to hit local greats not franchises.

I have a soft spot for Corner Alley, having watched Game 4 of the World Series there in 2016.

But if you're with the family? Eh, got to get a table.

Everything down there is going to be fucking lit, so I'd post up early if your kids are old enough to hang in there.

Not a whole lot that's right next to the stadium, except for West 3rd street, although that's more bar-like and maybe not so family friendly.

The Gateway/Tower City area has many restaurants, which is about a 20 or so minute walk from the stadium. East 4th is a "foodie" area and a bit more expensive.

For family places, I like the Winking Lizard, which is a local chain.

Barrio is always a good spot but has blown up since they put it in downtown. As mentioned above, Corner Alley is family friendly and also has bowling alleys and arcade games in the basement. The people who get slammed for the games are usually tend to stay away from E. 4th before the game.

The casino after the Browns game is awesome. People come from the Muni Lot and make some of the best bets during blackjack, i wouldn't recommended playing with them but watching them for enjoyment.

Dealer was showing a face card and a guy wearing a Dave Zastudil jersey stayed on a 7. Dealer kept asking the guy, "are you sure you want to stay?" Dealer flipped over his other face card and took the guy's chips.

One of the most entertaining things i have seen was in Vegas about 5 years ago for March Madness, a guy at the sports book was openly sobbing with his head in his hands after one of the games. I just assumed he lost everything.

The Winking Lizard at galleria is really good but it can be packed on game day
If you're looking for some lesser known spots, I'd recommend the Nauti Mermaid and Johnny's Little Bar. Good food and reasonably close to the stadium and all the good stuff downtown

You're bringing the family downtown during the Browns' alcohol-fueled opener and you're stopping at the casino?

Im pretty sure this is the only Winking Lizard location I have never been to. Some of my favorite sauces come from that place.

Id recommend punch bowl social. I know some people dont love it, but its far enough to be not overly crowded, drinks are decent, there is other stuff to do & the food is solid.

Yes. If you'd like to bring your children to bars that make the list of 25 Cleveland restaurants with the most food inspection violations, by all means go to Johnny's Little Bar or Nauti Mermaid. :chuckle:

Sad, but true. I do remember Johnny's Little Bar having great burgers, but it's pretty divey if you ask me. I'd take the kiddos to, as many said, the Winking Lizard, or I'd even suggest Masthead brewery on E 12th and Superior. Lots of room, big TVs, garage doors that open when it's nice out, good food, and very kid friendly (for being a brewery/alcohol joint). Oh, and it's pretty darned clean to boot.

I'm going to assume these "kiddos" are all at least 21 since they're also going to the casino.

Gotcha. I, too, waited until 21 to start going to places with health code violations.
Your suggestions were based on being kid friendly. Just pointing out his kids most likely aren't little kids since they're going to the casino.

I was joking. Not even sure why I made the assumption that they were young, TBH.

Johnny's Little Bar is the tits. Tough to get too worked up about violations. I've ate there multiple times and I'm still kickin'.
