Drug Test

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I knew someone who did exact this and the HR person's response was "hahaha, no we don't test for weed. We wouldn't have anyone work here if we did". This was a fortune 500 company.

Testing for weed in 2019 is about as asinine as it gets, but my test was a Panel 5 test that includes the dreaded reefer.

I left the parts store I ran because my boss asked me to take a piss test. I had someone cry I talked about weed, I laughed and walked out on principle.

As for your smoking, you're fine with a hair test. My last attempt to quit was 70 days clean and still failed a piss test. I haven't bothered to try quitting again.

Lie and say you got abducted and a gang forced you to smoke it as part of their initiation. Cry.

The crying worked for rich high school and college girls all the time when I was a kid. Probably still could for a guy like you.

What kind of guy am I, Jig?

I say shave your entire body except you ass hair. Make that bitch have to work to get her sample of 100 hairs.

Can I ask what industry/position this job is for? Outside of government jobs/doctors/police/FBI/Military-type jobs, I just don't see the point in testing for marijuana. Its almost like testing an employee for alcohol... Just because they enjoy it on their own time doesn't mean they will on the company dime. Either way, an employee's performance if drunk or high during work will correspond with negative performance and things will take care of themselves.

I've worked for huge corporations in the IT industry for nearly 13 years and never been tested. If my industry did test, we'd lose easily 50%+ of our top talent. This is antiquated bullshit and, outside of a job type such as I listed above, it points to a company stuck in the past and with antiquated policies. Just saying.

Good luck either way.

Took the test on Thursday morning and was told to expect the results on Monday. If I failed the test, then @PIP has to have sex with Ramona Shelburne in a gas station restroom.

Wait... didn't he do that already?

Just wanted to comment on my recent personal experience. History: I broke my L1-L2 Transverse Processes in my spine in 2010, was prescribed pain killers for a year before switching to marijuana. Currently, I am a valid medicinal marijuana patient in Ohio.

Earlier this year I was working as an assistant high school football coach. Three months pass and I am told I will have to take a hair test. Thinking this would be the right thing to do, I informed them that I would not pass the marijuana threshold because of my status and that I would still take it to show I’m clean of anything else besides my prescribed Zoloft. Did not matter. Gone for 6 months with the option to re-apply during Week 1...

I’ve contacted local officials about my situation hoping they can start a process of medical exceptions for medicinal marijuana patients, including a current presidential candidate. Hopefully, my situation can bring light to politicians in regards to responsible marijuana users.

Companies are testing more rigorously for drug use. The logic holds not only for positions of responsibility, police, fbi etc.. but also for any one operating machinery, or supervising the same. Beyond that it is more difficult to justify.. That said,I have seen it used across the board more often..

Here is the thing about legalizing marijuana. People think there are no consequences to use, but there are in terms of job opportunities. I struggled to hire young people in Vermont, where weed usage is high. We were a secure facility, and drug testing was a contractual requirement with our customers. Young black males were particularly affected. Nobody mentions this when pushing for legal use..

Sorry that happened to you, inexcusable. I hope local officials respond and are reasonable.

I’ve heard minimal feedback from a couple, but nothing groundbreaking yet. I know that other nearby districts have made exceptions so I believe it is up to the school district to change its policies. It is frustrating but I’m currently coaching youth football and having a blast. Plus, I have an interview with the Browns for a guest service job this upcoming week. I can only continue to show people that I’m a responsible employee and hope for the best.
