Dwight Howard Saga

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
While I don't necessarily feel for the Magic brass, what a dick. What a fucking dick. Is it as bad as LeBron? If not, it's getting awfully close

They wouldn't even get to the 72-10 record if Nash were in his prime.

Only because Nash wouldn't be the fit people think he would be for the Heat. Nash needs the ball in his hands at all times. The guy pounds the hell out of the ball. He would be great as someone that can hit open shots, but it wouldn't help that Wade/Lebron need the ball also. The 72-10 record probably won't ever be done again.

Yeah because a basket in the last minute of the game is worth more than it is in the first 47 right? LeBron is better than Wade in every way, and he is younger and isn't a walking talking bowl of china. If the Heat break up the big three they have to trade Wade or Bosh, it would be laughable to trade LeBron.

Yea, I don't know why people think the Heat would trade Lebron. It isn't going to happen. And if they ever did trade him, he would just opt-out in 2014.

howard is having back surgery friday and is out for the season

Kinda crazy. Back problems for a guy who relies on jumping is a bad sign. Its very easy to reaggrevate back injuries. Can't say I feel too sorry for the guy.

wow

i don't think any player has had such a bizarre season in quite a few years. unexpected turn after unexpected turn...

Now the karma train can roll on to Miami and target the Akron backstabber.

Sorry, didn't have a link, saw the report on TNT

Like I said at the deadline...

Orlando should have traded his ass to New Jersey for Marshon Brooks and every draft pick legally allowed to be dealt when they had the chance.

Still trying to figure out what he is having done. I. Have been reading up on the options again (I have my own bulging disks) and what I see is pretty much summed up here. http://www.allaboutbackpain.com/html/spine_lumbar/spine_lumbar_hnp2.html

The surgical options are really to remove something. If Dwight is having one of these procedures, it will hurt his free agency bid. A disk is like a donut with jelly in the middle of the ring and a tougher exterior. When the jelly in the middle breaks through the exterior, that is the herniated part. The minimal surgery involves removing that so it does not pressure the nerves. I don't know of any way to close the break through surgically, so the functions the disk is always diminished, and if you keep doing whatever caused the herniation in the first place, it will continue to get worse.

The other option is to remove the disk, which is usually accompanied by fusing the vertebrae on either side together. Basically they screw in a plate to both vertebrae. I doubt this is what Dwight is having, because it has a long recovery, during which the back has to be immobile.

I guess I am still pretty skeptical about this whole thing. The crazy run up to the injury, all of the foot in mouth drama with the coach, the certainty that Orlando gets wiped in the playoffs. It just smacks of an image rehab. But if he is really having a herniated disk operation, I think new York or LA would be nuts to sign him., and Orlando too for that matter.
