He did let it fly last season and I think he missed 19 in a row.

You can't be gunshy, but at some point you also have to make shots. Windler doesn't have enough of a track record in the league to make defenses respect him regardless and carry him over those gigantic slumps.

For a guy like him, if you miss 19 in a row, you're just showing the other team you can't shoot.
He last made a three on 1-19. (That’s January 19th, not January 2019). Since then he’s gone 0-19. Granted, he didn’t get a lot of minutes, but he had four games in Late March playing 11-16 minutes and certainly should have hit one three at least.

I still say someone should set him up for a weekend with Lizzo. If that doesn’t break him out of his shooting slump it’s over.

I am hoping that Windler can recover his shot after all of his injuries. Last year, he really looked good with his play (except for his 3 pt.) shooting when Cedi was in JBB's doghouse. Because of his continuous movement, good D, passing, and game IQ, he could become an import piece if he can find his shot again.

Having said that, with Cedi likely traded, Windler's salary may be needed to facilitate a bigger trade.

Probably shouldn't have taken on his team option for next season

Last season, here is the 3pt % for players that should be attempting 3pt shots--
KLove - 39.2%
Garland - -38.3%
Dean Wade - 35.9%
Markkanen - 35.8%
Cedi - 35.7%
Okoro - 35.0%
Rubio - 33.9%
LeVert - 31.3%
Windler - 30.0%

Windler's gotta get that a little higher this season.

I bet most of the guys on this list improve this year. Love & Garland will likely shoot near their numbers - its hard to get much better than upper 30's on the volume they are going to shoot, but I still think Garland's inches even higher. I think Wade & Markk will see increases since they were both adjusting to new positions (and Wade had a weird season of being bad from the corner which had been a strength). Cedi could do anything from 39% to 30% - its Cedi. Okoro will shoot a little better because he will take few and they will mostly be unguarded. Rubio probably won't be any better and maybe even a little worse coming back rusty and off injury. LeVert isn't going to become a lights out shooter, but his career numbers are a bit better than 31.3 - I bet he's a couple of points higher. And Windler is too good of a shooter to continue being this bad of a shooter (if that makes any sense) I expect Mobley to come back with a serviceable 3 ball this year, and I also think OA will shoot above 35%. Sexton will shoot about where he left off. Put it all together and I think we will be better from 3 this year.

Nice to see this useless knitted condom continue to do nothing but watch…

Several mentions of Windler in the Sexton thread, as being moved into capspace so we can sign Sexton..

I think Windler can still make a bit of a career on a team not destined for the playoffs. He does a lot of little things well. Rebounds, plays defense, nice passes...

I think he has gotten beat up inside, and the league thinks he is vulnerable physically, but he has been on an NBA training regimine for 3 years..

I am OK moving him out, but could see Orlando giving him a shot..
