E3 2015

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There will never be another GRIT, that's when GR was legendary.

I never thought I'd ever see a Shenmue 3.
I would guess it's going to get a lot of support. We need an end to the story.

Personally, all the conferences were super meh yesterday. Although, I do understand the importance of Sony's three major announcements. The only thing of real interest on a personal level was BO3, and even then it's only that I will be getting the maps on time for once.

The Ubi conference started good, then it turned into Tom Clancy world, although For Honor looks good, and another SP game is a welcomed site.

Still not exactly sure what to think of the Division. On one hand, it seems Destiny-ish, but on the other it just looks boring. I fear for that game, it might have taken too long to get out the door to have a meaningful sales number.

Battlefront looks janky as hell. The controls from the demo just don't look good at all, although I am positive it will sell well.

The Bethesda conference was great, and that Todd Howard guy is a really good speaker. Although, I don't envision myself buying any of the Beth games until a new ES game, Fallout 4 looks to be best of show imo.

There's a 150 dollar controller, for incredibly rich people, backwards compatability that means nothing to the 0 360 games I own, a pirates game that was apparently *cringe worthy* gameplay, a Tomb Raider that looks like a rock climbing simulator, and Uncharted, now with Cars!

Edit: I forgot about the Dedtiny dlc announcement. The new supers look terrific, although another hive dlc is boring as hell. Instead of new enemy types, we get the same enemy types, but they've been "taken". Can't wait for a blow up thrall that doesn't blow up.

Somebody shoot me.

Edit 2: Horizon also looked kind of good. The combat didn't look bad at all, and the setting is relatively unique.

Just curious, what's your type of game? You seem down on a lot of the AAA stuff that is mostly indistinguishable from each other, and you said yesterday that indie games aren't your thing too.

By the way, "For Honor" looks like "Dynasty Warriors" if different warriors across time fought each other.

I've become very cynical lately on games. The last game I completed was Watch dogs maybe. I guess Destiny, but it never technically gets completed.

I could go over my list of games. Some very objectively good games, that just can't keep my attention for long. Bloodborne (18 hours), Witcher 3 (2 hours). I think a lot of it has to do with not having COD zombies in my life for 3 years. I may seriously just have to take a break from gaming, if BO3 isn't any good.

What's my type of game, well other than zombies (which is a mode), I like RPG's, and racers. Was very excited for the new NFS, but the last 3 or 4 have been pretty bad. The series has gone down hill for me since The Run. Taking a wait and see approach there. Shooters are basically my least favourite possible games, except for Zombies, and now Destiny.

Actually Destiny's PVP is its saving grace imo. In the next game, if they fix the lag issues, I will be perfectly content. Mostly at this point, i'm treading water, trying to bide my time until BO3 island, Destiny is my life preserver. Maybe VR will change my perspective.

Already backed. Only question is how far above they go.
I wonder if Sony is gonna front the rest of the money. It's definitely gonna have to be at least a 100m title for it to have that classic Shenmue feel.
But now they see that the demand is there, should be interesting.
The game has mad hype right now but it doesn't change the fact that the game never really sold well. They're gonna have to get more people into the story and making a movie like they with the first game isn't gonna cut it.
They need to make an import of both games on the ps4 and sell them for cheap.

They seemed to be very clear at the conference about the project having nothing to do with Sony (other than it coming to PS4). But maybe it is like the kickstarter project for "Bloodstained" in which they had a financial backer lined up but first had to prove there was sufficient interest. Sony backed the remaster of "Grim Fandango," so maybe they really are willing to step in.

What's interesting is that right now PS4 is only slated for a digital release, so that would save them some money. I agree with you though that it seems like it would take a lot of money to do this right, but maybe they can do it cheaper?

Thought the Rainbow Six footage looked epic.

Never bought from the series, but thinking about taking that dive.

Thoughts?

I mainly played the originals and Rogue Spear. Games were sick as far as tactical shooters go. Haven't dabbled in Vegas and all the new shit, it's too twitch shooty for me.

But I have to admit I am intrigued by the asymmetrical premise of this one in online play. I think I'm definitely interested.

I mean, damn, you can over simplify shit all you want...Battlefront looked incredible, I seriously don't know what you were watching. Not a Star Wars fan? Sucks you aren't into Fallout, but that game alone made this the best E3 in a while for me. :chuckle:

You sound like me last year. Thought last year was godawful. This year I am enjoying very much and it's not even close to over.

PS: Damn, that new Ghost Recon looks GREAT too. If Witcher 3 can't hold your attention at all and BO3 is all you want, then I dunno man. You may be in that cynical gamer phase that I went through for a couple years.
