Sean Murphy would be a good target.
The question is what are we willing to give up to get him?

Honestly, I don't think they are concerned with C at this point. They have all of Maile, Lavastida, Fry and Naylor to sort through as early as this season and into 23.It will be too rich for our blood ... this is about mid-60 trade value compared to Ramirez mid-70 and Olson mid-40. So, it will take 3 of our top 10 prospects (more like 2 or 3 top tier 5/6) ... Freeman/Jones/Tena/Allen (Olson comparison) is only about 52 .... so you got to go more (and two are slow this year due to injury). Yet, I would assume they want MIFs and Ps ... which is our strength. But, unless you get an OF/1B this year to make us into a true contender vs just WC, you are probably just wasting one of his 3 years left before FA. And, Oakland is probably waiting till trade deadline and see what type of market there is then with Langeliers about due up around that time (or close enough to call up with a haul they can get).
I think we are patient this year and wait for June/July for things to heat up and see where we stand. Yet, our needs now are OF/1B/C in that order.
Rosario and Plesac are 19/24 in trade value ... Plesac will have more value in July if a few arms go on 60-day DL and arms start falling off. Each of them can satisfy 2 of those 3 needs (especially 1B and OF as they are not premier positions). Yet, there is a reason Rosario is doing double duty in SS/LF this year (will be considered a super utility guy for playoff teams).
And, the trade deadline will make sense from timing, as we will see by then what Naylor and Jones have at 1B/OF. Valera will be getting close to 3/4 season at Akron and up for a promotion. You will know more about Lava and Naylor for 2023 (wished Lava showed more at the plate this preseason - especially as a late sub - he was 1 for 17 with 6 walks and 5 ks but I saw 2 nice line drives yesterday - 1 for his first hit). And, Battenfield/Pilk/Myers/Morgan/Morris will all have seasoning at AAA and be ready for a few spot starts to extended time come August/Sept. Heck, I am kind of surprised Allen Jr is stating at Akron (but that is because he only had 12 starts at AA last year -- will be just for a month or two probably). WIth Allen/Espino all at AA, you are going to need to start pushing the AAA pitchers up (or to relief) to have some room to move them up. (Curry, Cantillo and Burns will be most of year at AA probably). Yet, they will all need to be at AAA by 2023 with Williams/Mace/Nikhazy/Torres all at A+.
