ECF GAME 2 Cavs (0-1) @ Celtics (1-0) Tuesday 15th May 2018 8:30pm

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Most of this is on lue's tired ass drive and kick offensive system. How the fuck can you rely on a drive and kick system when only one person can get to the basket.
Clarkson's game drives me crazy but I don't know how he gets no mins. At least he's capable of creating his own shot. He went from a good bench scorer to no mins in a playoff game.

Kyries waiting for you with his pants around his ankles.

Fuck Kyrie. But I'm thankful for the huge part he played on our championship. Don't owe him anything, just like I won't owe LeBron if he were to leave.

The fact that the Warriors will obviously slaughter us barring massive injuries is the only thing that takes the sting away a little bit.

Series isn't even over though. Cavs really should be able to hold serve at home and tie this series up. I hope, at least. But the way this Celtics team plays at home is tough...and our guys totally crumble besides Bron and Kev and a little bit of Kyle tonight.

Can't get 3 points from the starting back court on 1-11. Hill and Smith were terrible. Korver hurts us defensively but jesus at least he usually keeps the offense going pretty good. I think Korver should start over Smith who hasn't even been good defensively because he doesn't fucking play his man the right way its like he didn't bother to read the scouting report and I'm not kidding. Either Start Hill and Korver or Smith and Korver, (I prefe Hill and Korver) with Bron and the 2 bigs.

We also need to STAY BIG, the only time we should go small is with Bron at the 4 when hes committed to playing defense for periods of the game. Otherwise...no more Green at the 4...please..

Cedi and Calderon getting minutes over Hood/Green would instantly improve the team, IMO.

Agree 100% on all points...

Series is not over, but season is over (in terms of winning a championship barring two of Durant/Curry/Thompson getting injured). So, do I really care about watching a miserable Finals? Meh... keeping LeBron's Finals streak alive would be cool, but who really cares.

Time to give Cedi a shot. Can match up with the Celtics' youth. Not sure what he did wrong to get put back on the bench. We need to match their heart and hustle and get some energy on our side. He's the only guy on the roster I really trust to do that (Calderon but he's too slow to match up IMO).

The Celtics also just endlessly exploit Jeff Green defensively.

I give Green props, he has been a really solid on-ball defender this year. Guarding the best of the best and doing a great job.

But he's been the same old useless, low IQ, low motor, piss-poor team defender. And Boston is just exploiting him like we do whenever Monroe is in the game against Bron for a few short minutes. Except Green plays 28 minutes.

Jeff Green HAD FIVE TURNOVERS!!!

How did Jeff Green even have the ball enough to turn it over 5 times. He had as many TO's as shot attempts. What the fuck is going on??

Ty seems determined to die on the Jeff Green hill. And while Green was useful in a specific capacity this year, Ty Lue has taken it as a license to play him as our most important reserve. It's fucking ludicrous. 28 minutes. 2-5. 5 turnovers. -17.

Jeff Green is singlehandedly killing us.

All good things come to an end

Hell of a run for the king

What I never understood was why Clarkson was tasked as heading the second unit when he clearly couldn't do it. Lue should have played him with LeBron and asked him to give him the 2014-2015 Kyrie treatment. Let Hill run the second unit.

At least two of Green's turnovers were on inbounds plays. At the end of the first half to Korver and then the one where Horford got it and then the Celtics messed up the 2 on 1.

Two others were where he picked up his dribble and got stuck in traps (first half Tatum stole it and second half Brown, who then threw it ahead to Rozier who got swatted by LeBron).

Not making excuses, just showing off my photographic memory.

He shouldn't be inbounding then. Yeesh.

First half Korver just couldn't catch the ball. Second half no one moved and he threw it away.

I think he earned his "throw the ball inbounds" responsibility for inbounding to LeBron on the TWolves and Pacers game winners.

My friend is a Celtics fans and sending me troll messages... Should I go to his house and punch him in the face?

Jeff Green played 28 minutes and was by far the worst +/- at MINUS 17.

We just got beaten like a drum when he was on the floor. Boston is smart enough they just ignore him and your offense turns into Jeff Green jumpshots. Yeah, no wonder we got outscored.

Green and Hood played a combined THIRTY NINE MINUTES.

Korver played 21. Nance 11. Cedi 2. Jose 2.

Korver should be played at least 28. Nance at least 24. Cedi at LEAST 12-14 and Jose at LEAST 5-7.

Hill, Bron, TT, Korver, Love, Nance, Cedi, Jose. Play 8. No more room for anyone else, though I could see a use for Ante for 10 minutes or so.

Won't ever happen. We'll either get hot from 3 and ride LBJ to a win or we'll lose and everything will get set on fire.
This team sorely needs a second option that can get to the basket at will. I prefer an all-star point guard "kemba" or shooting guard "Derozen"

one of the attributes of a good coach is the ability to bench players who are not performing ie. when casey benched derozen. casey wasn't that bad, he just ran into lebron. meanwhile lue sits there and hopes j.r comes to life

No, it wasn't. Horford embellished the push. He landed extremely softly if you notice.

I'm not saying it's a reasonable play for JR to make or not a flagrant one, but JVG's campaigning for a flagrant 2 is ridiculous.

Horford embellished the push? I have seen the replay a number of times now and there is no way you can come to that conclusion. Horford falls down (like anyone would from a push to the back when going towards the basket to either dunk or lay it up) and his momentum carries him past the stanchion. What evidence do you have to support your assertion that he embellished the foul? It's not like Horford flew thirty feet into the stands after the foul.

Once again, it does not take much contact when you are in the air and you are going towards the basket like Horford was, for you to lose all balance, potentially leading to an injury.

Honestly, there are pushes on rebounds all the time that are actually not a whole lot different. This wasn't a play in transition where Horford's going at a sprint and jumps off one foot.

No, it's a much different situation for a player going up for a rebound. That player is expecting contacting while going up (or he should be). The situation Horford was in is far more dangerous because he was going towards the basket with a decent amount of force and JR made contact with him from behind. No way that you can expect anybody to anticipate contact occurring from behind like that.

Edit: if that play happened to LeBron, I bet he finishes it half the time and it's only a flagrant 10% of the time.

As for whether or not LeBron finishes that, it is totally irrelevant. The standard as to whether this should be a Flagrant 2 offense isn't whether somebody in the NBA could have maintained their balance and made the basket without any injury occurring. Instead, it is whether the player committing the foul made "unnecessary and excessive contact." The onus is on the action committed by the fouling player, not what the offensive player could have done to alleviate the potential harm. This was obviously an unnecessary play, but also excessive given the circumstances.

This is one of those special exceptions where you look to protect the offensive player completely since that player is in a totally vulnerable position without any way of knowing that contact will be forthcoming from behind him.
