Following the 12th game of the young Cavs 2021/2022 season, RealCavsFans.com introduces the first episode of the Rubber Rim Job podcast.

Complete with technical difficulties and a scaled back sound effect board, Jig (@The Oi ) and RchfldCavRaised (@RchfldCavRaised ) break down the first few calls from RCF members and discuss the 7-5 Cavs as they recover from last night's loss to the Washington Wizards and prepare for Friday nights showdown with the 2-8 Pistons from Motown.

On today's show, we got calls from @Marcus @stickboltman @foucault87 and another user named Wes who we have not yet identified by his RCF name, and we turned off the shotclock for a live chat with Stick.

Why did Rchfld fall in love with Craig Ehlo before he recently fell in love with Angel Gray?

How did Jig mention Paul Mokeski and Chris Dudley in the same episode?

What went wrong in the Wizards loss and how can we get back on track with a win against the Pistons?

Listen, comment and share despite technical difficulties limiting the engagement and special effects (we're working on it, damnit)

What did I do? Did you catch me shooting my shot at Angel Gray? (sprinkles some Sex Panther on his pajama collar)

You are the right guy for this. Your work with the phones requires actual listening to people you have never met... nailed it.

Guys... You got something.

Real timing this as I do some late night customer service work:

I was a few year too late(and didn't realize NSFW existed my first 4-5 years here) to ever really post interact with @The Oi so at times I didn't even think was a real person with a voice. I figured he was either a W&G conglomeration of several posters or an autobot programmed just insult people and their mothers in the nastiest(Ms. Jackson if you please) of ways. But no, he's a real dude with a Shawn Kemp/Z appreciation. Ivy League Andrew Berry precedent Desmond Bryant as current profile pic is top level stuff. I always wonder how many people know/get that photo, but it's enough to make me love Jig from a distance.

@RchfldCavRaised I used to assume grew up in Richfield like me but.....going to RHS I should have probably guessed that was less likely than more likely and his user name was just a perfect reference to the home of the Golden Era Cavs.

-Ehlo...I have this vague memory of him doing an almost McGrady like scenario where the Cavs were down 5 points with like under 10 seconds to go and he somehow drained two 3 pointers to win the game by one point at the buzzer. I remember having the small radio under the covers so it had to have been a West Coast road game, maybe Utah? Did this actually happen?

-Jig.....your top memory can not be Kevin Love based. It just can't!!! And this isn't just some @SanduskyCav level LoveHate

-Fuck the Bulls. Fuck the Pistons,. Let's never empathize with them. Wiz and Hawks are fine because they're not to be taken seriously and don't have a history of breaking our hearts first.

-I would love it if Montresz was our backup 4-5 behind Mobley-Allen. Just such a changeup from those tow and his own unique gravity on the court that would open up a lot of freedom for the big skill of Evan and Jarrett.

-Does Jig want Okoro to be a sub or a Sub?

-Lloyd took a few years to really get good and make me believe that he had actual connections ro a pulse on what was going on. Fedor has taken longer but I think just by virtue of how many years he's put in that he's gotten better. But he still is often prone rubber stamping the Cavs FO take on the state of the team or state of the rebuild. Feels better reading that type of thing now with Mobley on board and seeing a vision for high level team play. But in the 2018-2020 time frame, it's been annoying listening to him write and tweet every platitude about a 2 game winning streak directly From the Desk of Koby Altman.

-Loved the Mobley discussion with @stickboltman What stood out to me in the Wizards game, specifically the 2nd quarter, was the sheer diversity of shots and passes he made in that stretch. A lot of developing rookies have their 2-3 things they do well and they go to that bag over and over and look a little awkward trying to expand their game beyond that. But in that 2nd quarter stretch he did so many different moves, it was dazzling. And, with his quick redirect to a wide open 3 point shooter(Windler) he demonstrated that he both sees the game in real time or ahead of time even. A lot of players, even vets, need 2-3 seconds to scan around to see what happens AFTER they get the ball. But Mobley had the pass in mind to the corner before he even got the ball. That's either pure basketball intuition or great grasp of the offensive scheme, or both. Regardless, it's awesome!

-I agree with Rchfld that Wade is not a 3 but I love that JBB has chosen continuity in allowing Wade to fill in for Markannen rather than switching to a far different player/playstyle at SF like Cedi, Windler, or Okoro. They chose a Zig format to play this season(3 7 footers) and they run the offense and defense based off of that. So with Mark out, they chose to remain consistent so that their is a continuity that all the players can rely on. It works because Wade is just proficient enough to do it. It wouldn't work if they used Love(way to slow) at the SF position in place of Markannen.

-Could Wes be Wremy? He used to post a lot way back when...

-Finally! The Angel Gray portion of the cast

-Is anyone really a French/Euro philosopher is they didn't have a character named ofter them in Lost?

- "Get that Weak Stuff Out of Here" is so iconic that I like to imagine Mobley and Allen muttering it under their breath after every block. Like if you could be good enough to play on an NBA court and block another pro, would you not be going full AC after said Block?!
