Man, you are 100% correct on Warrior never selling. Such a roid addled Prima Donna.

I think the guy who sold damage the best was Curt Hennig, who may just be the best ever in general.

The limp thing he did while his opponent kicked his lame leg out from under him was amazing.

And with his crazy hair flopping every time he took a huge hit, getting racked by the pole.

He could make Brutus the Brown Noser Beefcake look good.

I disagree. I believe we all have our personal preferences and likes and dislikes and to talk about those preferences isn't silly. People in my store who were passionate about Radiohead were equally mad if I played Coldplay, for example.

I can't stand JayZ and don't have him anywhere on my hip hop mount Rushmore and I regularly jump into conversations to debate his mediocrity, and overhype the greatness of Nas, for example.

It's sport for me

over hype Nas? you lost me there lol.

One mic...

See Ron, I was hoping someone would type this. Definitely my GOAT and still creating classics 30 years in.

You’re hip hop cred is verified with me.

I like listening to these at the gym so I’ll listen tomorrow when I go…

Guys should run a poll and let some RCFers vote & choose who they’d like to hear and co-host with y’all just on various topics or whatever… Just some fun.

Looking forward to checking this one out tomorrow…

Jay is a great business man, had some great songs, but hasn't thrived generations of hip hop. Jay isnt even the best artist in his marriage.

I turned my son to Nas at a time he thought little wayne was the goat ( he was a teenager 12 years ago) and he came back with a new respect.

We need this kind of energy in the hip hop thread!

King's Disease II was really good. Death Row East has some of the best storytelling in a song I've heard in years.

Jay-Z's career is better though

Agreed 100%. Would help with frequency of episodes, engagement and keeping fresh voices.

Love this

We very much have to debate this. I was stuck at a cheerleading meeting for the last 2 hours and didn't get a chance to call you down to the ring for this take...

Love me some Curt Henning, but, no sir

Using Bret Hart's rating scale of Look/Ring Skills/Promo out of 10, there are a few guys from 1980 on who stand out, but relevant to our discussion:

Macho Man Randy Savage 9/9/10
Curt Hennig 9/10/9

Hennig did not get the run that the others did due to injury and McMahon's predilection for roid heads. But in terms of ring skills I dare so he was better than Bret Hart and had promo and color commentary skills he lacked too.

And I think if the other category was the intangible ability to make any match legendary, Hennig was a 10 as well.

Hennig is the greatest wrestler of the past 40 years to not hold the WWE/WCW/NWA title.

Damnnit, I can’t disagree with any of the advanced stats/ratings you just provided.

He had some EPIC intercontinental matches and I still contend that his SummerSlam 92 intercontinental match against Hitman that may have gone on for more than an hour but could have gone on for another hour without a single complaint from 10 year old me, remains one of my favorite matches of all time.

I’ll allow your Mr Perfect love, counselor

Close runners up for me would be Ravishing Rick Rude and Ricky the Dragon Steamboat

Rude also is a guy that shows up on that list.

I should think 10/8/9.

He was of course ravishing, tall and built. He was pretty good in the ring, and did god promos, though he was decidedly less sexy when he spoke with that thick ass Minnesotan farmer accent. He and Jesse Ventura are nearly indistinguishable vocally!

Tito Santana was a real ring savant. He was more or less forgotten by Vince after 1987 I think.

And Von Erich. What a tragedy. That whole family.

Eh the music is too benign to actually hate and most people who are hating creed and Nickelback etc are doing it simply because someone told them it was cool.

Don't like who you want, if you have a nuanced view of it go for it, but most vitriol towards the most hated band of the day is fucking stupid.

Man this stuff was so good… I don’t know if it was being a kid and watching it or if it was just that damn good that made it that way ?

Nothing touches the WWF from like ‘87 to ‘95 and those in between years of ‘89 to ‘93 were just elite…

Jesse & Gorilla…. The refs getting knocked out…. The stars themselves…. The pay per views… The hasbro action figures at Toys R Us or KayBee toys….

Wrestling buddies !!

Good times…
