I had taken a break post play offs. So I was just able to check this episode out last night. Let me say I went into this thinking JBB wasn't the guy to get us over the line, but it was such a flawed roster, specially after the trade deadline that I didn't have great expectations past round 1. That being said the stuff you guys touched on Allen spot on, you can't contest and rebound agreed. TT excelled at rebounding back in the day because the strategy was for everyone to block out for him. JBB thinks its an effort thing I don't know how to address that fallacy. The stuff on Love spot on, we got worse at the deadline, even if Love was done, losing him made us weaker in a position we were already weak in. Love is doing Love things in the play-offs..... Kinda expected at this point honestly. The part on the Knicks coaching was so spot on, Thibs got out of his own way and took direction on offense.
I still believed going into this offseason we were another year away from truly contending even though we have very little to help fill those positions of needs, we do have some assets. Will JBB give up control of the offense ? We have some good offensive minds on the sidelines, but clearly he hasn't been willing to give up control .... yet.
Again discussing JBB never taking ownership is the biggest red flag to me. Even if Koby and the brain trusts in the cavs front office think JBB can be the man, the lack of accountability and ownership has to raise the same red flags for them.
As far as hating on knicks fans, yea they are annoying as shit but at least they are loyal and not fair weather. I respect them 100 times over the bandwagon GS fans, Lakers ect.
All in all great episode to cover the closing ultimately a disappointing season. I say season, because we all know what the issues were all season long and nothing was done to address those issues on or off the court. Oh well, back to waiting for next year.
