ESPN 30 for 30 ("Believeland" 3/31 at CLE Film Festival, ESPN airing 5/14 9:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was incredibly disappointed with the new ending. Seems like they just clumped all of it into the last five minutes without building up the plotline.. They completely took out losing to the Warriors the first time as well?
Agree 100%. Granted it could be the cut for TV, but it would have been nice to show the finals loss & injuries, and then show footage from this year and all the doubt from the outside world. They definitely should have dug into the finals a ton more. We literally pulled off the biggest comeback in NBA history and the greatest upset. God forbid we add an extra 10 minutes.

Lebron still shitting on ESPN :chuckle:

When this originally premiered I felt this was weaker than a lot of the 30 for 30 documentaries and maybe it was because I'm a Cleveland fan and outside of the Browns leaving town there wasn't a lot of new ground being broke for me. I found it odd that Raab was being paraded around on the documentary until I realized he was one of the producers.

When the book Whore of Akron came out I found the concept or idea to be funny but I never actually read the book despite checking it out from the library. I remember Raab doing an interview on a radio show days before Lebron announced his return and he was very negative towards Cleveland fans hoping that Lebron came back. It wasn't until tonight that I found the link to the interview again.

Raab really seems like an assclown to me. I mean I get it. Everyone was pissed when Lebron left but this guy tried to profit off of Cleveland fans' misery and now wants to act like all is forgiven. This isn't some guy selling rude or mean t-shirts on the corner, he's a writer for a major publication.

As far as the new ending, I felt like it was kind of tacked on and just was a highlight reel of the Finals series not really focusing on what had happened since Lebron's return and how they came into this postseason after firing Blatt and outside drama. I kind of wonder how quickly they would have made these changes if the Cavs didn't win until next year or sometime afterwords.

Couldn't agree more with both of your posts. I had heard last week on the RBS that they had to cut some things out of the original Believeland and then added 7 minutes for the new ending with the Cavs winning the Finals. I was hoping the parts that were cut out were Modell's jackass son, NOT the 2015 Finals where the Cavs suffered injuries. Was also disappointed the majority of the 7 minutes for the new ending contained Raab and his kid in Cleveland that day. All due respect, who the fuck cares about his Hawaii'n t-shirt wearing ass. There were SO many bigger and better ways to chronicle the ending of the drought and the 2016 Cavs season then where Scott Raab spent his father's day watching game 7.
