Whats this unicorn doing on the 2nd page of RCF? Anyways he is the red hot fave now for DPOY. Personally i think it should be closer between him and Daniels but I am not complaining given he was robbed a few years ago
Good move. None of the Core 4 should EVER drop off of Page 1!

10 million per is another role player. Is it wrong to hope he doesn't get it? I mean, he is a shoe-in to make nearly a billion in his career. Does he really need the extra?

I never understood why the NBA does this, so basically it’s better for a team for their players to NOT be MVPs, DPOY, or make all NBA teams.

Wtf is logic in that? They should implement some kind of system where players are entitled to the extra money but it doesn’t go against your cap, or at least for teams resigning players as opposed to FA additions

Or am I completely wrong and the bonus incentives ALREADY count against the cap but the player only gets them if he achieves the goals?

love the idea of supermax bonuses not counting against the cap.

A player getting huge money for all NBA or DPOY is a nice problem.

A player getting huge money who misses games and performance drops off is a bad problem (Embiid, Ben Simmons, PG - notice a pattern?)

The system was set up to make it harder for big market and or teams with otherworldly wealthy owners to win every year. Not sure why penalizing teams whose players get post season honors makes any sense. Awards just shows that your organization is doing things the right way in terms of talent acquisition and player development. Teams should be lauded for that rather than penalized. The only team going forward that is going to thrive every years is the Lakers both because it it is the Lakers and because for whatever reason other teams like to give them their stars. The system will not help the Wizards become the Auerbach Capitals.
